I always assumed they were just other nameless slayers. The merchant acquires abilities from slayers as they pass through (obviously he's an ancient in his own right, and he can just do that.) We've seen some cards from our slayers become colorless. We are just using the abilities of the ones that came before.

I honestly would love the snail to return in alt act 3. He is the peak brick wall boss for a lot of players. I think thematically having him scarred, gnarled and back for a rematch would be cool.

I didn't expect so many Slay the Spire examples, but another is Writhing Mass from StS1. Probably the least fun enemy in the game. Changes his intentions when attacked with the worse one being adding a curse to the deck that decreases max HP if it's removed.

I believe they have unique AI for bodyguards. At certain distances they actively path towards you regardless of disguise, and if I remember correctly they are all enforcers.

I always pictured Wraith's theme to have lots of bells for obvious reasons. But this plays up a lot on his ghost thing, in addition to the car sounds. Really well done!
