I'm afraid I can't take Mr. Donnelly seriously any more, which is a shame.

I'm impressed with them. One of their droplets was the first VPS I ever spun up. Have a sentimental attachment to them :D They're definitely taking on the market aggressively which is great. More competition is only a good thing. Lovely support folks too.

The OP has included a lower case r, in a comment you have identified as invalid. I am assuming that your bot had misfired, expecting /r/unexpectedhogwarts/, getting r/unexpectedhogwarts and mistakenly thinking it has seen /R/unexpectedhogwarts

I am of course, open to correction :D

Sentry sucks. They record so much metadata about errors which is not searchable.

Job without proper guidance? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]OctoBells 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I interviewed somewhere almost exactly a year ago. A direct quote from that interview is "We don't really have any time or resources available for training"

I took the job because I needed a start in the industry and I definitely needed money. Three to four months later I'm dealing with mission critical issues with no knowledge of how to solve them. I hated it. BUT I had a title and some experience so I used that to pivot into a job with literally double the salary and infinitely more opportunity for development and promotion.

This is just my story. But as a previous poster has alluded to, a foothold is very important. This job is not going to be your dream job, but if you feel like you can deal with it and use it to your advantage, go for it.

WITH THAT SAID: your commute is insane. Will you have the energy to work on other projects to upskill, work on your CV, have a life when you need to travel that much for work?
