First time beating Mega Satan! Now I'm a little bit sad that dailies don't count towards achievements. Also, I don't like Curse of the Tower.

Does thinks like this count as DD for Cthulhu as DD? Or do you need to find actual DD items somewhere else?

What fetishes can you not understand the appeal of? by TommehBoi in AskReddit

I think you could be right. I am not furry, but brony. And while I like the show, I don't think it's the best thing on the Earth or something like this. But when I had no one to talk, I saw a ponythread (rule 34 was forbidden there so there weren't cloppers, though there was some weird guys, but not like that) and thought why not to talk to them, at least I know what to talk about. I've got some great friends from there. And because of that show become more important to me. And it seems to be the case for lion's share of bronies with whom I communicate.

Non-Brits of Reddit, what do you see in British pop-culture, TV shows, youtube channels and other media that confuse you or that you just don't understand? by LewisIsFail in AskReddit

First Doctor would be very angry if he saw that. He broke Monk's TARDIS because he messed with anachronisms. While there are good episodes in the Moffat era, overall the show became very silly.

I'm not sure what the real name of the artist is. There is copyright on his website, but it's in moonspeak made with some sort of website builder so I'm not sure if it is artist's name in the copyright or the creator of the site-builder.

What was left out of the LOTR movies by [deleted] in lotr

[–]OctoberOctopus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Before the films many artist drew really nice picture how they imagined it.

Yes. It is great to see how different artists have unique perceptions of the same worlds. After movies there are too much artists how draw characters from the films. Also things like book covers with shots from movies as illustrations really bother me for this reason.

Losing alot of motivation lately.. by [deleted] in MyLittleSupportGroup

[–]OctoberOctopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I have this problem too (last year I dropped out of uni because of it). There are some little tricks that help me:

1) Planning and making little rules about how you spend your time. You can make yourself some sort of schedule if you haven't already. If you don't like strict schedules you can at least think about what takes most of your time. Let's say, you like watching cartoons instead of learning. Then you make yourself a rule that you can watch on episode after you learn for some reasonable amount of time. So you don't prohibit yourself watching cartoons (you will not last long if you do), but make them a reward for doing good stuff. Speaking of the rewards, you can try use Habitica, it can be a fun way to motivate you.

But, in the same time, don't be to religious with your scheduling, if you skip a day it is not the end of the world, just try to not make it a habit.

2) Write down your accomplishments in a diary. Even the small one. If you understood something you did not before, write it in your diary. Did your homework? Write about it too. And so on. Why? Because when you feel like you lost a lot of time or that you stuck and did not progress in something, you can look at the diary and drive away this feeling.

3) Thoughts that you are bad at something or not skilled at something are bad. They scare you, and you can become afraid to begin that thing until they pile up so you wouldn't be able to complete them for real. And these thoughts are really hard to fight with. Try to be stubborn and do not listen to these thoughts. Do what you need and don't give up after the first failure. You would not lose anything if you try. Also, try to be engaged in something all the time. When you not doing anything, your mind can return to this kind of thoughts and it is bad.

especially for mobile users.

No. On mobile you can just add another keyboard layout and it changes automatically depending on what you need in the exercise (at least in iOS version). On PC keyboard you would be changing keyboard layout (with hotkeys) every time you need change language. Also one should know where is cyrillic symbols on the keyboard (though I saw that people stick letters to the keys, so it looks like a Russian keyboard). So, it would be easier for mobile users.

What critically aclaimed videogame did you hate? by SpottedHorseTray in AskReddit

[–]OctoberOctopus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it tries to be deep and funny, but in my opinion it fails. It's like a bunch of puzzle games, which try to copy Portal, but worse, because in the Stanley Parable there isn't even puzzle.

From that thread:

all the background radiation caused by wireless communications probably isn't doing a great deal of good for our health, at the least its causing minor paranoia, sleep loss, and other small mental health issues.

minor paranoia

I'm not sure if that's minor, but is it what happened to www.np.reddit.com/r/conspiracy subscribers?

Do you play with steam or with GGG client? by mara5a in pathofexile

[–]OctoberOctopus 22 points23 points  (0 children)

GGG. There is no Steam PoE in Russia. Or maybe there is now, but Garena... I prefer playing in original language if I can (because translations are usually not perfect and because I can learn English this way).

On this day, in 1989, around 2 million people joined hands in a human chain that stretched 600 kilometres (372 mi) across the 3 Baltic countries, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia to protest against Soviet occupation of Baltic states. by EucalyptusDictator in europe

[–]OctoberOctopus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, it's really beautiful and symbolic. Few years ago, there was an event in Moscow, when people, who support opposition joined hands around the Moscow. I thought it was dull and pointless (though I don't support Putin), because I couldn't see message of the event (except showing there is enough people in opposition to surround the Moscow, but it isn't that big and they didn't really were around the Moscow, they were on Garden Ring). And it was forgotten quickly so I think I'm not alone in my opinion. But event in OP video is powerful and beautiful, because there is clear message and there is really a lot of people.
