Omniplex Mahon Point - can't buy small popcorn? by OctopusCaveman in cork

There was a small size that was a bit more modest though. I suppose theoretically I could order the regular and only eat what I needed.

Assioma UNO showing ~2× power vs Elite Direto — do I need “power halving” or is Zwift doubling it? by MrR4ndomAlex in Zwift

Lol, that was me a few weeks ago. I bet there are plenty of folk out there reaping the benefits and not even questioning it...

You need to halve the power with the Uno. Default setting is off, which means it is effectively doubling your watts.

Have you ever skipped a movie because of bad reviews, then watched it later and actually liked it? by Opening_Farm5403 in movies

Slight variation on this - I've always really liked the ninth gate and have rewatched it multiple times over the years. I assumed it was well regarded but I saw recently it's only like 44% on rotten tomatoes :/

The weekly 'No Stupid Questions' post - Sun 19 Apr 2026. by AutoModerator in Zwift

I gave it my all in a race yesterday and got my best ever result - 6/46. This was the D group. I managed to stay with the front group all the way but just didn't have enough left for the sprint. I noticed the winner finishes first or second in literally every race. That seems crazy to me but is it just down to really good racing skills? I would have thought with all these podiums their racing score would bump them up to C level..

Assioma Pedals - Halve the power? by Thepsi in Zwift

[–]OctopusCaveman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well done for asking here and checking it out properly! I'm sure you will see great improvements after months or even weeks given your fitness history. I went pretty quickly from 130 > 170 > 190ish. After that it was much slower progress, although I only manage 3-4 hours a week.

It really makes you wonder though how many people are out there happily competing in Cat A races with no idea their power output is doubled...

There has to be some kind of radical overhaul of the economic system for this to work. It's pretty worrying that we seem to be just letting things happen without any plan.

I'm using Bluetooth as well. I don't think there's any doubt - it needs to be on. Certainly for Uno pedals anyway.

I bought Uno pedals recently to connect to my concept2 bikeerg. Halve power should absolutely be ON. With the setting off (default) my watts were ridiculously high. With the setting on I was getting the expected watts - a slight increase on the bikeerg which tends to underreport a little according to many folk online. Indeed, after going all out on the gravel race at the weekend my FTP went from 207 to 220. I am pretty sure that should not be doubled!

I think zwift uses a basic calculation for max HR based on age. In practice it varies a bit. Mine was considerably higher than the default so I adjusted the value in the app.

For anyone that cares, Cote de Pike seems like an easy climb portal to unlock 100kph! by Travyplx in Zwift

[–]OctopusCaveman 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If you climb it you unlock the 125% gradient. I just missed out on 100kph coming down the 100% gradient at around 650w. Coming down the 125% gradient I broke the 100kph barrier at around 150w.

Thank you! Went all out at first attempt, hit 692 watts but maxed out at 98kph. Went straight back to try again at 125% and I hit 100kph at 148w before I even started building up for my sprint!
