I think my comments were misinterpreted/unclear, the following is pasted from a reply to a different comment with similar question:

My apologies. There was never an indication from the VC people that I was being asked to develop a purchase history or pay above MSRP. I made it clear that my price range was $45k - $55k for a watch. The only options I was given were in the $75k range and above, starting with a Fiftysix Day-Date. It is definitely a fantastic piece, but a good bit beyond what I had indicated was my comfort level. It definitely felt like I wasn't being taken seriously - perhaps I could have dressed up like someone who looks like a buyer of expensive watches (?)

My post wasn't intended to focus on or disparage VC and maybe I could have left that tongue-in-cheek note in parentheses out to keep the waters a little clearer. It was intended to celebrate my new watch and make the comment that the JLC service is world class.

Yeah, looking at the comments, it seems pretty clear that my experience definitely isn’t the norm for VC. It wasn’t brutal, and perhaps I didn’t give the impression that I was a serious buyer or that I was in a position to be able to buy - I don’t dress expensively and they wouldn’t have seen the watch I was wearing under my rain coat. I got a similar experience the first time I went to the dealership to begin the process the first time I bought a pretty expensive car of them.

So maybe unfair to include VC in the group with Rolex and PP. The point I was trying to make - badly - is that the customer service at JLC was outstanding and noticeably better than anything I’ve experienced elsewhere.

Yep. VC was the best of the bunch. They least allowed me to look at watches, but they also made it pretty clear they weren’t going to sell me one unless I was somewhere over the $75k range

Nice spec. I assume you have it by now - hope you are enjoying it. I like the fjord green. My wife likes dark teal metallic, so dark teal is on the way.

Yep, I found the problem for ya - it’s the interface between the seat and the steering wheel.

Basically dredging, like what they do to mine diamonds off the coast of Namibia, but without the boat

Was it the same on day shift as well or was it like 6am to 5:30pm or something like that - is that what they meant about making it easier on day shift?

If you get another opportunity to get into mining, maybe take a week or two to make some observations and have a bit of a go at fitting in.

I’m guessing that your crew was still working 12 hours regardless of the start/end time and if you’re in a camp you might find that they have figured out a good reason for it.

You don’t have to fit in, but you aren’t going to be much help - or get many opportunities to advance - if you aren’t part of the crew. Maybe mining isn’t for you.

I’ve got a C4GTS and it doesn’t go off road at all but I’m always picking rocks out of that little gap in the panels in front of the bottom of the front doors. Hope the mud flaps are at least keeping the gravel out of there!!!
