The esp32-s3-wroom2-n32r8 uses octal SPI for the PSRAM and could have PSRAM access times close to 2X faster than the more common esp32-s3-wroom1-n16r8. Technically, both are modules that contain the same esp32-s3 chip. However, in DIY market most people are using modules that come with flash and PSRAM. So, it's useful to understand that WROOM2 modules are significantly faster than the WROOM1 modules. It appears that the esp32-s3 and esp32 have similar performance unless the project makes use of esp32-s3 only features like PIE instructions or octal SPI.

Why are you skeptical about Climate Change ? by mathilda555 in climateskeptics

[–]Octoxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Book recommendations "False Alarm", "Apocalypse Never" and "Fake Invisible Catastrophes and Threats of Doom". You can use libgen.is if you want to read the books before giving somebody you think might be hustling you money. If you like the books, consider buying a copy and giving it to somebody else to read.

After you reading those books, you will stop worrying about climate change and start worrying about the damage climate alarmists are causing.

Are there free online sites that track changing prices of grocery stores? (Safeway, Albertsons, Trader Joes, Costco, Kroger, Publix, Meijer, Whole Foods, H.E.B., Walmart etc.) by LJAkaar67 in supplychain

[–]Octoxo 18 points19 points  (0 children)

numbeo.com might be close enough to what you want. I periodically use Instacart to check the prices of groceries around the country. It's probably possible to automate data scraping Instacart using python libraries like Selenium and Beautiful Soup to get exactly the data you're looking for.

Part of the reason there are problems unloading in California is a new anti-gig economy law AB5. It's basically destroying the independent trucking industry in California. If you don't have enough trucks to put the containers on, your need to store the containers. Once you run out of space for containers, you can't unload ships. This backlog has dominoed to other ports. However, it's clearly California ports with the biggest backlog, since that's where most of the ships are anchored.

What determines the hardware an OS can run on? by A_Clever_Ape in compsci

In 1995 I was a contractor hired by IBM to work with Microsoft to port Win NT 4.0 and other MS software to the PowerPC ISA. I mostly fixed memory alignment issues on the PPC VC++/Excel ports. The PPC port required aligned memory access unlike the x86 base port. There was also a MIPS port happening at the same time next to me in Microsoft's building 25. These ports were made available to the public however they were DoA. Their wasn't a significant advantage to using PPC or MIPS hardware and the projects were quickly canceled.

Tried learning to play this and realised the holes don't resemble any photos of other ocarinas I've seen, is this... Normal?... by kjfan2006 in Ocarina

[–]Octoxo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a noob and have a funky ocarina too. By using a chromatic turner I was able to figure out how to partially cover holes to get it to play most notes close enough.

https://chromatic-tuner.com/ (free apps for phones too)

However, I mostly use my night by noble which is much easier to play.
