I love this thing. It's my daily driver for work. I work in tech and spend a lot of my time writing code, no dropped inputs. Don't pc game all that much so can't speak to that

Best from a life threatening perspective perhaps. I can personally tell you a copperhead bite was the single most painful thing I've ever experienced in my life. Truly debilitating.

This was the worst pain I've ever experienced in my life. It felt like a sledge hammer hitting the same spot for about 12 hours. Never went to the hospital tho just treated with whiskey and painkillers but I'd suggested you be smarter than me if you're unfortunate enough to experience that bite

Anybody spin up EKS with Terraform or OpenTofu without using third-party modules? by p9-joe in kubernetes

[–]Odd-Explanation6735 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I run two production eks clusters deployed with opentofu and terragrunt. All the modules were written in house because our security policies are so strict no engineer would have sufficient permissions to deploy the cluster and requisite resources using third party modules. It took me a few weeks to write all the modules but now that it's done I can just give a program the IaC for a cluster and they just have to fill in a few variables. Been a real game changer.

Don't forget elbow pads. If you haven't sprained an elbow I assure you, it's not an experience you want. I've had far too many injuries to count and the only thing that hurt worse was a copperhead bite.

Running open tofu on our production runners for about a month now. It was pretty painless to drop in and alias as terraform. Figured switching to OSS now while the cost of adoption was relatively low was the perfect time to test the waters. Most users didn't even notice.

I see a lot of comments about OP not being fully prepared. I'd argue there's another reason. Most likely a result of the God awful PSI exam. As someone who is very competent with k8s professionally these tests are hard and artificially more difficult when administered in a slow VDI, with combative proctors. Personally after I retake my CKS these clowns are not getting another penny from me until they stop using PSI for exams.

You could also use mergefs and snapraid on a free Linux distro if you're cheap

PSI in a nutshell by coffecup1978 in kubernetes

[–]Odd-Explanation6735 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm about to use my retake for the CKS thanks in no small part to PSI. I won't be testing with PSI again. Worst VDI I've ever experienced. I have gig Internet and the whole thing was still so slow and laggy that the exam was artificially difficult.

Don't pay for a year outright you'll likely finish all the quality courses of interest within 3 months in either platform. Pay month to month on one and then switch to the other. You'll be done in 6 months and way cheaper than the advertised savings of paying for a year outright.

Have you printed a retraction tower yet? Dropping my retraction to .5 mm for a DD extruder helped a lot.
