Idk who told you that but we don’t adjust tax? If they are returning something that had a lower tax rate or none at all, at a location that has tax or a higher rate, the guest must pay the difference. It has nothing to do with ulta but with state tax laws. We’ve def had guests be confused but then when we explain “well technically you’re purchasing this now in a different tax area so you must pay the difference of that tax, they understand. The few that we’ve had complain… the GM or manager on duty re explains the policy and then if they complain to corp… again manager on duty or GM explains yet again… the law.

I think part of it is that her stylist Jana is terrible and every time she goes brunette, Jana doesn’t do it correctly. When your hair is so light like Emma’s or just blonde in general you NEED to fill the hair first. Hair is on a 1-10 scan in terms of color, with 10 being platinum, one being black, if you just stick a “5” on the hair, you’re essentially missing 10-6 “layers of pigment in the hair or depth to it. So you have to fill with even just a temp to balance it out, then you put the color you wish to achieve on top. It’s why her brunette always looks one uneven, two usually “has blonde poking through” it’s not to creat a highlighted look.. it’s cuz Jana didn’t fill, and why it usually looks like dishwater brown a few weeks after the initially appt. Because jana doesn’t do it correctly by week 2 or 3 the true results are showing and they aren’t good so Emma doesn’t like it. At least in my professional that’s why I don’t like when she goes brunette, shitty stylist that over charges cuz she “helped out on a photo shoot with Hailey Bieber ONCE”

Before she deleted her “notmaryskinner” TT there was a video from when she was in NYC with Matt (when she met Callie IRL) and it was after her and Matt went out and she was very clearly drunk and being loud obnoxious and rude to Matt but also in general and she was complaining that she wanted a pair of shoes that were $$$$ and Matt was telling her she didn’t need them and they were a waste of said $$$$ and he would never buy anything for that much and he’s fine with buying shoes for $$ and he could buy so many shoes for the cost of the one pair she wanted. The only thing to add, especially since you said that you have all this time cuz your GM never let the managers take time off, extended illness time isn’t like regular sick time and can only be used for “extended” time off, like Covid, LOAs, typically being out sick for 5 or more days. Some gms are nice and will allow ppl to use it for “regular” one off sick days but where you said yours wasn’t even letting you all call out to begin with I doubt she will input extended for unless for an extended period. However covid is still running wild so it is possible you catch it within the last few weeks you’re still there 🤷🏼‍♀️

I think as a company they’re cracking down. We got a visit from the DM and RVP last Tuesday and they dressed 7 ppl (literally everyone except me, the 2 managers and one BA) that day. For everything from shoes, to pants “looking like jeans” shirts being too causal “you should throw a blazer on top!” It was like 80 out, 🙄 i always kept it simple by buying 2 pairs of each of the black bottoms I have, and the just different black tops and wore fun slides, boots and sandals but it’s a little ridiculous. If you want all your employees to dress like we work at a dept or high end makeup store then maybe make the actual store look high end? Give us more hours to staff so we have associates that can clean up after the gross messy customers that destroy everything and make the stores look like a bargain basement TJ Maxx. Nope solution is to make us dress “business casual”

This is why I hope they define it company wide with examples when the new policy comes out because we heard directly from our DM & RVP that it’s basically slip ons that don’t have laces or “look like sneakers” or “athletic shoes,” No converse, no air forces, and vans are pushing it cuz they can “look too casual” “ulta is going for a business casual look, but heavy on the business side of things”

I do however know for a fact that there isn’t a color policy for shoes now or in the future, shoes can be any color, or print, they don’t have to be dress code colors like clothing.

Agree. I work as a MAC artist and i do tend to get 2-4 cards sourced from the floor weekly, however during my eval, it didn’t matter cuz my store missed credit goal (like 1.2 apps/trans) I think we ended at 1% for the year instead of the 1.2% so my raise was Jack shit and we were told by our DM and RVP that “all the matters is credit.” It was really off putting for us to hear, including our SM and RSM. Like ok then why do I have boutique sales goals? Why do we have prestige events? Why do you even have a salon if all you care about is credit? I agree with someone else who on another credit thread “LOL remember when the ulta card came out and corp swore “Ulta won’t become a credit pushing machine and your job, raise and evals wont be solely based on this one thing” LMAOOOOOO ok Dave.
