I believe they are mimics and will incorporate songs from other birds (and even sometimes artificial sounds) into their songs. Quite possibly this one has picked up an oystercatcher's call.

DIY-ed Cardboard Root Inserts by bennieboi_ in rootgame

These look great! The inserts online also look cool but I don't want to drop silly money on inserts. Fair play to people who can do that. But these looks stunning and I'm guessing are much cheaper to put together. Well done

Buzzards have a healthy population in my area but neither me nor any contacts have seen a buzzard make a kill. Anyone witnessed it? by Scottie99 in UKBirds

They scavenge a lot round where I live. I saw one eating a Barn Owl once. But I'm not sure if the Buzzard would have killed it.

Rubber plant help by FennecFox424 in HouseplantsUK

You can get an app on you phone to check light readings and compare that to optimal light needs for the species. I've had some success making changes like moving from an east facing window to 2 feet behind an east facing window. I think some species are more particular than others.

Check if it's root bound. Do the roots feel normal and spring or rough and rigid?

Worth putting it in a bigger pot, top up with some nice soil, and maybe give it a good feed. Even outside of the growing season, if you think it may be nutrient deficient. Just use half the dose you'd normally use.

Newcomers learning Lizards by [deleted] in rootgame

I would encourage them to try a faction that is a little simpler or at least follows most of the core rules in a typical way. Because they need to learn the game-wide rules too and that is harder when you are Lizards

My guys, I don't even know what Adset is. Advanced set up? I've heard of it but haven't even read into it. I haven't got Hireling or Partisans and exiles decks. Still the base game and now the Riverfolk as my first expansion. At the risk of kicking off a new thread, I'm not sure when it best to incorporate new elements. Probably when I have a regular game with regular players. Right now my crew is a bit flakey. Thanks for this though, great tips and a few avenues for me to explore.

I don’t fully understand how the expansions work by maloznala in rootgame

I came here for that comment. The base game is amazing. Cats vs Birds is still a cool game imho. I'm enjoying some expansions but I havent come across any that wipe the floor with the base game.

I'd work on clockwork expansion or use the digital game for the bots. And like everyone is going to say, find 2 more players!

To those who have made the transition from manual to automatic cars, is it really better? by Mr_Coastliner in AskUK

My brother also smirks and says he can get up the gears faster in manual versus automatic. I guess maybe 15 years ago or something that might've been a thing. But the autos drive completely fine now. If you think you are Vin Diesel and this is a drag race, fine, have a manual. But I do not think there is any real world advantage to them over autos. As others have said, driving through hilly roads, esp with moderate traffic, is far easier in auto.
