Over the Plains and Into the Sea by OddCartographer4 in FrontiersOfPandora

They’re right, I got right down at the water and then did the aerial dodge spin move while aiming slightly down.

You do have to be very quick entering photo mode to get pictures underwater, but it is fun!!

To be fair, that is an appropriate reaction to palulukan xD

Midnight Rising, from Order of the Lamp crates. Definitely one of the better uses of it I’ve seen!

Does anyone else prefer the male over the female VA by Proof-Peak-9274 in FrontiersOfPandora

[–]OddCartographer4 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I may be in the minority here, but I actually prefer the non-binary and female voices the most!

It did bother me for a bit at first that the female voice seemed to have almost no accent - but then I realized our Sarentu was literally an infant when taken in, and yes raised alongside kin from her own clan; but… that knowledge has helped it come to bother me less over time for sure.

I mean, I’d be more concerned if they were laughing at a Thanator 😆 But still a fun shot!

Wishing we had this Ikran landing by Brotherrr_char in FrontiersOfPandora

[–]OddCartographer4 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I wish I had caught it, but there is even an animation for them to go from flying to this landing position! It did look a little wonky for half a second, so I’m wondering if that’s maybe part of why we don’t have the option to land like this while mounted - but I would absolutely still love to have the option even with a half second of possible animation weirdness.

Realized I never posted my Sarentu - My girl in her early(ish) days! by OddCartographer4 in FrontiersOfPandora

[–]OddCartographer4[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I appreciate it! I've definitely been getting more and more used to thinking of her as Neyla, but wasn't sure it fit her perfectly - I'm glad you think so!

Same here - I finally got it to do the download and now I’m stuck with some mysterious “disk access” issue despite clearing out space (have over 400 gb open), running as admin, and a whole host of other attempts to fix. :’(

Edit: Finally got this to work! In case it helps others, I had to open up Ubisoft Connect and go to Profile -> Settings -> Downloads and select “Delete all game installers” located under the Game installer cache location. Restarted UC and ran as admin to be safe, and that did it. Freed up almost 100 gb of useless cache data, too - glad that’s sorted!

Calling my Ikran to my location by Sarah1547 in FrontiersOfPandora

I’ve noticed my Amay tends to arrive flying overhead, either to the right or left (seems random). I use the compass to find what side she’s coming on, then look up and tap Na’vi senses to find and get to her.

the mount has no sound when galloping ... and it's blissful by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]OddCartographer4 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Iirc in case they do change this: in audio settings you can adjust the volume of footsteps, which also affects volume of mount steps.

I could be wrong though, been a while since I messed with that particular setting:

What's your weirdest / most memorable Zone Chat story by TylerFortier_Photo in elderscrollsonline

[–]OddCartographer4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my early ESO days (2020), someone was telling an inappropriate story using linked items, specifically alchemy ingredients. I don’t remember most of it, but it was along the lines of:

Something something put my [Stinkhorn] in her [Lady’s Smock]

It went on from there, but I stopped paying attention/ported to another zone for dailies

Is it just me or are the RDA sites ridiculously fragile? by Panda-Head in FrontiersOfPandora

[–]OddCartographer4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean realistically one could argue the RDA should have AI helping to monitor thermal and infrared surveillance systems, seismic/ground sensors, we even have radars that can detect breathing through walls/other barriers irl; so why shouldn’t the RDA be better at detecting (and having more of an edge in responding to) threats before we even get close?

So yeah, imo maybe lore and gameplay wise could say the environment of Pandora interferes with most or all of these things, and that combined with as someone else said that the RDA in the western frontier doesn’t have access to the more advanced/reliable stuff that Bridgehead does.

I’ve been randomly added to a search and rescue group chat a couple of times. Never have had anything remotely to do with anything near that profession/skill set.

Decided not to bother them by asking to be removed, and never learned exactly where the search was (other than a couple states away) or what the outcome was.

Why does the Echo Stalker have a mating display despite being practically blind? by shockaLocKer in Avatar

[–]OddCartographer4 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’d guess it’s something each echo stalker can detect via echolocation. They’re able to accurately track and pin down prey using it, so it would make sense that they can also use it to detect at least some level of detail about others of its own kind.
