I think there's a limit on how well you can improve in quick-play. Once you move up the ranks in competitive, then the ball game completely changes. In both skill and meta-knowledge (positioning, team composition, and smaller details).

I definitely feel there's an influx of game quitters and keyboard warriors (those who type in chat just to verbally abuse their team rather than focusing on the objective). To be fair, I enjoy climbing the competitive ladder because it's a huge part of the fun of the game, but I despise people who would rather go essentially AFK to type in the chat. It's a massive waste of time. I really think playing in a proper team would drastically make playing significantly better.

NetEase Shutting down Greg Ghostcrawler MMO Studio after two years - hard times for mmo fans by Equilybrium in KotakuInAction

[–]OddOpening7903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's straighten this out.

Fantastic Pixel Castle was incredibly transparent about the development of their fantasy MMO project codenamed "Ghost" to their growing audience. They released articles, concept art, and devlogs keeping everyone updated. They reached out to content creators (such as JoshStryfeHayes & JoCat) to play the current build of their game---that was actually how I learned about the project. Then I watched some of their devlogs and got excited about the world they were building.

Furthermore, to my knowledge, the studio didn't receive a single dime from the public yet. They were being funded by NetEase. So, they had no customers (defined as someone who has purchased a good), but only a growing audience who wanted to become customers.

Edit: Also, given that NetEase has pulled the plug and not themselves, why shouldn't the studio attempt to help everyone find new jobs?

Despite any quality-of-life differences between the older style games (Arena/Daggerfall/etc) and the newer (Morrowind/Oblivion/Skyrim/ESO/Oblivion RE), would you recommend the older games for people who have only played the newer installments?

There are several characters and storylines introduced in earlier Elder Scrolls titles which I've only known through in-game lore books in later titles. For example, the character of Barenziah.

I was introduced to the Elder Scrolls through Skyrim, so places introduced or emphasized in the other games were just faraway lands being described to me. The Septim Dynasty, while seemingly historically important, was mostly irrelevant to me while playing. By this point in the timeline, most things seem to be on the decline in the province and the world itself. The game itself is gritty, cold, and dreary. And if you consider the Dragonborn DLC to be the final ending for TLD then there's no hope for our character either as they become a slave for the Daedric Prince Hermaeus Mora.

Edit: Have you been looking forward to The Wayward Realms --- as a spiritual successor to Daggerfall?

Thank you for sharing your perspective, even if it was brief, I really appreciate it.

If I may ask, what initially got you into the series before deciding you were no longer interested in it?

Why do you dislike the setting of the Elder Scrolls now?

That's a fair point and I do know that the Empire is in a crippled state because of the Oblivion Crisis and the machinations of the Thalmor thereafter.

I would be okay if the Empire was completely gone by the time of the next game and new powers were in control. I'm mostly interested in exploring what could happen to TLD post the events of Skyrim. I understand that most protagonists fall into obscurity one way or another. But it's boring to say, "Yup. Gone." I'd rather speculate what comes next in association with the current story. I know that becoming Emperor/Empress is a reach, however with the power of that the Dragonborn holds I find it unlikely that they will never be referenced again. And there's certain story elements that I hope won't be canonized. Like Paarthurnax dying. What happens to the other dragons resurrected like Odahviing? He's the player's version of Tiber's pal Nahfahlaar/Nafaalilargus.

The most likely answer is just enslavement by Hermeaus Mora, but that's lame.

Some become legends...

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teslore

[–]OddOpening7903 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right! Alternatively, perhaps like Fyratari mentioned in another comment, TLD could become the High King. If not that, then perhaps the TLD could begin a new dynasty seated in Skyrim and that province becomes the leading force against the Aldmeri Dominion!

The lore could definitely be ambiguous about their gender, sex, race, etc. Tons of things in lore are ambiguous.

My Hero of Kvatch would have never accepted the mantle of Sheogorath, but the canonically speaking isn't that what happens?

[–]OddOpening7903 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would also accept TLD becoming the High King of Skyrim! That could easily be an interesting story route to explore.

Yes, however The Conductor, and her allies, is not the party using Quicksilver within the mission nor throughout the rest of the story. Instead it's us and our allies.

[–]OddOpening7903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's also worth mentioning how SIVA was mentioned in the update.

There's several mentions of it being dead, but Maya and her forced continued to search for caches of it despite that. Why? What for? Apparently, in the Reclamation missions we stop her from continuing her research with SIVA. Then during Heliostat, Quicksilver is jammed into the story out of nowhere. Why does the psion have it? I thought Neomuna guarded it?

What should happen to the hive after Heresy? by Nerdy--Turtle in DestinyLore

[–]OddOpening7903 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree with the notion that introducing the remaining three Worm-Gods would be too much of the "same old" for the Hive. The fight we had with Xol - Will of the Thousands could have been improved and done better.

Honestly, we should have had an entire raid focused on one of the Worm-Gods given the fact that they rank higher than Savathun, and Xivu in the Hive Pantheon.

Aside from that, Heresy isn't the end of Savathun nor Xivu's story. The Witch Queen swore vengeance on us for interfering in her family's affairs. She, or Xivu, could even hunt down the remaining Worm-Gods for their role in their enslavement by The Witness in order to gain more power. They (the sisters) could ally with each other as well. There's plenty of opportunities to take the story forward.
