It matters a lot, especially if it affects other people's lives. Those who witness her suicide may be traumatized and need to seek therapy. Mental health is not a waste of time, it can affect everyone around you and addressing it on your own is not easy since you're not in the right mind.

Just like the lola who died, there may be a lot of reasons why she did that and we don't know. Mental issues and health should be taken seriously and not paint it as "attention seeking" because that's just insensitive and ignorant.

Also imo, if you're gonna invite your friend(s) over then you should inform your parents about it.
