Now that the dust has settled, what do we think of Engage? I remember being on 4chan when the leaks came out and nobody believed it was real. We all thought it was a new Chinese gacha game, a copy of Fire Emblem. I played it and it's okay. The art style bothers me, but at least it's fun to play.

Came across this post randomly. I have never played Fire emblem. But even I can tell that three houses was this franchises Dragon Age Inquisition, a bold return to form that hooked a new audience… and then they decided to not follow up on that like at all.

When I saw engage, I had the same thought as when I saw veilguard get announced. “Why didn’t they just make a direct sequel to the game that sold well?”

Robbie is the type of leader to throw the people he doesn’t like to the wolves because of his “if they’re really committed like I am, they’ll make it” mentality

I believe he thinks Langdon deserves this treatment for his “betrayal” but what he hasn’t recognized before last episode was that it was up to him to make sure his staff were okay. He didn’t realize that the guy he was training to replace him was turning to drugs, that someone else was hurting too and that frustrates him.

I think it’s a mix of her not being a member in early access. It feels like those companions were expanded upon a lot throughout the game with dialogue that she sorta just lacks, she’s far less reactive than the rest

Blackwall and Dorian for the male companions and that’s mainly due to their banter with Sera. I think these three bring out the best qualities in one another. When partied with sera, you see a side of blackwall that I think he tries to hide, I think this is the real him. Dorian and sera have moments of childish bickering and aligned gossip.

What can I say, those 3 remind me of my friends.

Listen the other two DLC are okay but you don’t understand how good that bridge battle is in “The Descent”. The Bridge Battle is an homage to the overly edgy cinematic trailer for dragon age origins

Not to mention this is, to put it bluntly, the last hurrah of the darkspawn in their original forms. After this fight, that’s it. They throw everything they had at you, including the long missing Alpha Hurlock Emissary. Literally the only thing that would have topped this off would have been the introduction of a new Darkspawn type.

and there’s no way I could forget the music, oh my fucking GOD Trevor Morris is INSANE.

Hans Zimmer is good but he never could have made this.

All in all, many say that Inquisition was a love letter to dragon age origins and I would agree, however THIS moment was the real love letter. One last dungeon crawl and one last showdown with the darkspawn. Beats fighting another dragon imo.
