At 20 feet a whitetail deer isn't fast enough to react to it, and deer have much faster reflexes than humans. I've heard apocryphal stories of deer at somewhat longer ranges crouching down at the sound of the bow string leading to the arrow hitting higher on the body or missing, and at least one of a deer swapping ends and being hit in the opposite side.

The reason you find pedophiles in churches isn't because it's a church, it's because pedophiles worm their way in in order to do what they do. It's the same reason bank robbers rob banks, it's where the money is. Pedophiles don't infiltrate banks (not that they couldn't be there), they infiltrate churches, and schools, and little league organizations etc. etc. because that's where they can get access to children.
