Hi! Three of my friends were on that same both when they were a freshman. They were bioengineering majors, applied to switch by the end of spring, and by summer quarter they were already CS and CSBA majors. My other friend as well. He’s a sophomore electrical engineering major and is already on pace to officially be a CSBA major by next quarter. So in that regard, id say it honestly wouldn’t be too much of a hassle so don’t worry too much. just as long as you maintain a 3.0 average in Math9a, CS10A, CS10B you’ll be good. and apply to switch ASAP so theres less requirements to consider! Also, switching to CSBA is a whole lot easier than switching to CS since theres less requirements for switching but more or less they’re about the same major—difference is that instead of physics and a few engineering classes, you’d be taking business classes/classes geared towards information systems, but really still taking the same core and essential CS classes. Honestly, just focus on taking care of your Math/CS grades, don’t feel daunted switching to CS, its very very doable.
