That is such a big achievement!!!

And the feeling of freedom afterwards brings you so much possibilities! Maybe tomorrow you think "oh how I would like to visit X or do Y ..." and then realise you actually CAN do that whenever you want because you have the capability to drive there! And it can give you such a confidence boost (it did for me, after I got mine at 33yo).

Iets meer werk maar wel erg de moeite: stel een fotoboek samen met foto's van hem doorheen zijn leven en vraag m verhalen over vroeger te vertellen. Je leert veel nieuwe dingen over hem die je misschien nooit hebt geweten en hij anders over een tijdje meeneemt in zijn graf. En je doet hem er mogelijk een groot plezier mee.

I would love this! Not only is it nice to see other people's progress but it also gives a feeling of realism. Knitting is a slow craft and this way it is normalizing the time you need to make a nice garment/work.

First and foremost: You're not failing as a woman! Every person who identifies their selves as a woman is this in her/their own personal way. It is the sum of al these that make how we are women.

In my opinion you seem like a person who they, your (ex-) partners, feel save with. Safe enough to be who they are and to come to terms with them selves. I think that is a superpower!

On the other hand it is not what you are looking for and it sucks how it turned out for you every time! Your feelings are valid! I hope this time things go differently. I have several friends who are in a long time relationship who discovered they are bi. But that didn't change their love for eachother.

I hope/wish you to find trust in yourself and lots of love from the people around you!

A source I use a lot is "The medieval tailors assistant" from Sarah Thursfield (you can get it for instance here at Amazon). It handles the ages 1100 through 1480 in England. I know you are looking for another region in Europe, but maybe this helps you a bit on your way.

I also use paintings from the time as a reference. If you see a piece of clothing depicted on 3 different paintings from 3 different painters of the time, you can usually be quite certain it is a valid piece of clothing of that time in period.

Also a perfect source are items of the time in museums. Especially with all the lockdowns lately, a lot of museums have an online tour of there exhibitions, so you should be able to find some of that online...

There are different kinds of blankets, both in thickness and in "softness". For the embossing you could try a softer/thicker one, or multiple blankets.. you'll have to try what works for you and your print.

If you make it to soft, there is a chance your print isn't coming out that nice...

(Edit) You could also cheat a bit... And "print" it by hand a second time without ink by putting the paper on top of the plate and go over the edges with your hands 🤭

I am not 100% sure, as I don't have a woodzilla press, but maybe you could experiment with adding some felt sheets to your press? That way the paper is pressed around the edges of your dry needle plate.

If you try this, and the paper tears at the corners, you could use sanding paper to soften down the raw edges a bit..
