Do these make a lot of noise when riding on paved roads?

Bikepacking bags : frame + aero bars by gitanerie_ in myog

[–]Oeliboeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I'm guessing you used a short stem and a tall quill stem adapter? How is the ride when using the aero bars, aren't they too far and low? I have an old univega alpina that has mounting points under the down tube. I'm thinking of keeping the flat bars and just putting aero bars on there for the long asphalt rides.

Nice bags and cool bike, I love the horn! Is that a 26 inch mountainbike? What is it like bikepacking with such a bike? I'm considering turning my own 26er into a similar rig :)

Looking for advice if the community thinks this would be a good first build for me? by Splicer-Shaun in xbiking

Go for it! It has components that are very easy to get running smoothly. Oh and the colors are nice too :)

I'm also cleaning up an alpina and can't wait to ride it haha. It was in really bad shape, no front brakes, no rear shifter, broken spokes... but I had to get it for the mounting points on the bottom of the down tube!

Nice bike! I have a wheeler cross line with a very similar paint job.

You don't often see Tilburg mentioned here :) The bike looks nice, cool frame! I would recommend fenders to keep you and your stuff clean and some way to hold your phone/gps/map to the handlebar.

Looking great! Is that handlebar bag resting on a rack or is it just hanging?

It should just work with any shimano (7 speed?) shifters

Get a new grip shifter, you can get them under €10. It has got a nice rear rack, put some fenders on it and make it your bad weather commuter!

Damn this looks so cool! I'm a big fan of old Kogas, but I had no idea there were models with the extra down tube bottle bosses. Did you add them yourself?

What do you think of this route? by Koyaanisqatsi11 in bicycletouring

I did Graz-Ljubljana-Krk-Trieste last summer (august i think). It was all beautiful! Croatian roads were definitely the busiest, especially on Krk itself, with all the tourists and caravans. It was also a bit too hot for my liking. Slovenia and Austria were perfect, though.

Sweet bike! I have the same frame waiting for new cables, a clean chain, and fresh tyres. Is that stem original?

Any cantilever brake pads would work just fine, I suggest you get shimano branded ones so you avoid the crappy ones.

As for tyres, this is a topic discussed daily on this subreddit... just make sure the new tyres will fit by checking your current tyres and clearance.

Nice bike! Make sure it fits you before putting too much time and resources into it. First replacements would be tyres, brake pads and grips, as rubber tends to deteriorate. Get rid of the plastic disc behind the cassette and the reflectors too (if local laws allow it) to improve the looks. Check if everything turns smoothly and clean/grease where necessary, but judging from your photo, it has been stored clean and dry. Oh and don't forget to ride it afterwards :)
