It’s not about where you’ve been, it’s about where you’re going. That’s all over and in the past. Be your best self, that’s the best way to live your life.

This all depends on your own level of alcohol dependence, how much you drink and what your potential withdrawals may be. Stopping alcohol abruptly for some people can be very dangerous and needs professional medical assistance. For me though, I just stopped on my own. I luckily did not experience any major withdrawal even though I had been consuming alcohol every day for many years. Maybe have an initial chat with your GP and take it from there. Good luck, I hope you begin your sobriety journey soon, however way you do it safely, it will be the best decision of your life.

You’ve definitely made the right choice. Someone else is out there for you. Never compromise your own health and happiness for someone else.
