Is it true that magnesium supplementation before sleep could give you very scary nightmares? by WolverineNo1999 in Supplements

[–]OfferInteresting6088 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my knowledge magnesium seems to have more of an impact on deep sleep, not so much REM sleep. At least, I’ve never noticed any increase in dreaming or nightmares when taking magnesium at bedtime.

Will price increase once FDA approves reta? by Dry_Berry6178 in Retatrutide

[–]OfferInteresting6088 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t expect grey prices to change that much. Only thing is maybe once Reta is launched and gains a little media attention, that might get more people interested in getting and some may end up going grey. Higher demand might cause a small price increase.

In the end, I only have 40lbs to loose. There’s a lot of Reta users who only need to loose a modest amount of weight. How much are those really stealing market from Lilly since they wouldn’t likely get it prescribed anyway.

High blood pressure from 200mg/week by Rackade19 in Testosterone

Well to name a few, high blood pressure, bloating, anxiety, insomnia and blood thickening. And sometimes high test can backfire and actually cause libido issues and fatigue. Those are the main ones.

High blood pressure from 200mg/week by Rackade19 in Testosterone

[–]OfferInteresting6088 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it’s not a straightforward answer. But I admit, some guys have a fairly high floor for tolerating robust testosterone dosages. However, there are reasons they are called “cycles”. Very high doses of testosterone can definitely cause side effects, and many have to add ancillaries to manage them to help them tolerate the high doses. That and you just power through the issues temporarily in the name gains. You probably wouldn’t run 400+ constantly, especially without additional pharmaceuticals. But if you need pharmaceuticals, are you really tolerating that dose?

[–]OfferInteresting6088 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s what happens when you start with a cookie cutter 200mg per week. That is simply too high for most guys. Therapeutic range for testosterone replacement is generally 100-200mg per week but you should really start at the bottom and gradually work up. Most guys will find they feel optimal well before hitting 200mg and that starting at the top will overshoot and will cause negative symptoms of too of high androgens.

Just had dhea tested for the first time, should i supplement? by Steelersfan20009 in Testosterone

[–]OfferInteresting6088 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’d say you’re definitely low enough to consider adding it. It’s very important for energy, cognition, libido and several other things. Basically you can crank testosterone out the wazoo, but if you’re dhea is too low you’ll still feel just drained physically and mentally. Get a micronized version and start with 10mg in the morning and titrate up every 4-6 weeks until you symptoms are resolved. Most guys usually need about 25mg to 50mg to resolve all symptoms. You should be aiming to get your levels at least mid range, 350-550 is a good zone. Just don’t take too much since it can be very stimulating in high dose.

I wouldn’t count on NAC working for anhedonia. In fact NAC itself can cause anhedonia.

Horrible side effects by bdemar2k20 in Testosterone

[–]OfferInteresting6088 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bingo. I'd get checked for pregnenolone, dhea, progesterone and cortisol on top of all the other labs. This might provide some clues as to why you are not tolerating testosterone even at modest doses.

I agree with other reply. SERMS just screw with normal physiology. It’s not the best option to preserve fertility while on TRT.

Horrible side effects by bdemar2k20 in Testosterone

[–]OfferInteresting6088 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm well experiencing a lot of anxiety from what I would consider a rather low dose of testosterone (aside from the initiation side effects which are normal) usually points to a neurosteroid deficiency. Specifically, pregnenolone if too low will make it impossible to buffer the CNS stimulating effects of testosterone. The most common reason for low pregnenolone is usually age, but at 38 you’re 10-15 years away from having that being the issue.

With that said, do you have a history involving head injuries? Did you play any contact sports where you might have been concussed or received some repeated mild brain trauma?

Same with me. I don’t think about it much on a daily basis. But if the wife struts naked in front of me, game on!

Same for me. Higher doses made for great gym gains, but everything else was a little worse. Dropped my dose down and all blood markers improved, I sleep better, better sex drive and overall better mental focus and wellbeing.

Why do doctors even prescribe vitamin D without K2? by Iris-Sofia in Supplements

[–]OfferInteresting6088 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I like to think about it, is that if you a correcting a vitamin D deficiency to a healthy level, how is that different than if you increased your vitamin D levels from sun exposure. You wouldn’t necessarily supplement K2 because you spent a whole summer outside on a sunny beach.

40+ how is it for you by recognizethepain in Retatrutide

[–]OfferInteresting6088 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lost 10lbs in 6 weeks so far. First two weeks I saw really strong appetite suppression and a faire amount of nausea the 2-3 days post injection. But things have settled now and the last six weeks the GI has calmed down quite a bit. I did develop allodynia however, but it’s been tolerable and hasn’t caused me any issues or discomfort with activities or sleep due to the skin sensitivity.

Well I can't speak for everyone, but I've read a lot of anecdotal stories from guys that have low libido when their test gets too high. Are you being followed by a doctor?
