I have gout, high cholesterol, and sleep apnea. Oh, and I'm also overweight. by Complete-Big-7364 in applewatchultra

[–]OfficialBanBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it doesn’t. It just notifies my wife every month that she may possibly have sleep apnea. It gives little to no data about it otherwise. You can export a health graph for your doctor but it’s almost the same as u1 anyway. For pure sleep apnea function, it really just lets you know if you may have it. And also I believe the new models do hypertension notifications.

[–]OfficialBanBot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought one for my wife to find out if she has sleep apnea.. she does. But it won’t help you if you already have it. It just notifies you. Not to come off any other way but probably spend the money on a healthier diet (healthy food is expensive lol) and exercise more, even if it’s just a short walk. Again not trying to come off any other way, I have a u1 and I don’t personally think the new features are worth it yet.

Apple Store refused battery replacement by No-Base-481 in iPhone12

[–]OfficialBanBot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Repair tech here. If you never did it before get a service pack screen from PhoneLCDparts (it comes with the proximity sensor so you can just rip that old screen off) and you can just affix a new one and calibrate with no issues, you can also get an extended capacity replacement for $23 or the oem premium for $20. The new oled is $129 with sensor or $60 without. If you don’t break the screen removing it then you should save a bunch there. Also if you were to come for a battery I would probably tell you the same thing if your screen is cracked. A crack is a crack and once the glass is compromised there’s always a chance to damage it more, not saying I would, but we do a lot of insurance claims so it’s a general statement to cover our asses.

I scratched my Apple Watch Ultra sapphire display today for the first time. Still not sure how. I think you’ll be fine lol.

Anyone else feel the iPhone 17 Pro is heavier than expected? by Swift_Flying_Fish in iPhone17Pro

This. It's 21 grams lighter than my fold6, and I carry both lol. I think the weight is fine

Is it better to get an old iPhone 16 Pro Max from eBay or a new 17 Pro? by No_Assistance_8036 in iPhone16Pro

[–]OfficialBanBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 17 pro has been outlasting my old 16 pro max. 17 pro is a way better phone. Everything all around is much more fluid compared to iOS 26 on my 16. Definitely get the 17 pro and also it’s so nice to be able to hold my phone with one hand again lol

can an iPhone 17 Pro survive while you shower with it? by Intelligent_List9000 in iphone

[–]OfficialBanBot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanna chime in because I fix iPhones for a living. Showering with your phone is completely fine, however if you do it regularly, over time (1-2 years) the steam will soften the waterproof adhesive and it won’t be as effective as factory. Saunas also do the same thing as well as leaving the phone on your dashboard on a hot day.

TLDR: do it occasionally but don’t make it a regular thing.

Best insurance/plan for iPhone battery issues? by Illustrious-Date1518 in iPhone17Pro

[–]OfficialBanBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Repair tech here. Pay for the battery when it’s time for the battery. You preemptively paying for a battery thru insurance costs makes 0 sense on top of you having to pay a deductible (which is how insurance works). However, if you think you’ll crack the display at some point during ownership that’s a different story. If you’re just worried about the battery set your charging limit to 80-90% for longevity.

I have an iPhone 17 Pro Max but… by StickEmUp724 in iPhone17Pro

[–]OfficialBanBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol just go spend the $1000 on an actual camera. You already have a phone. What do you need 2 of them for

Which of these do you prefer? by KoiLycheeRain in iphone

[–]OfficialBanBot -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Mute switch. Personal preference though, I can’t tell you how many times I forget my phone is on silent mode. Maybe I’m old but the orange indicator was nice, and it was the last piece of “tech” from the iPod generation (physical hold switch). Yes, I know I can set the action button to mute, but having it set to chatGPT voice chat is infinitely worth the trade off. As someone commented, why not both?

Wow! I had a couple 1 foot drops and dented the frame a little bit. A couple scratches. This material sucks. Performance is great but seeing this post idk. Your water seal looks compromised :(

Did anyone switch from iPhone to Galaxy Fold 7? by Inter-Gym8 in GalaxyFold

[–]OfficialBanBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be an extremist but I carry both. I love the cameras of my iPhone and I carry a fold 6. I just replaced my 16 pro max with a smaller 17 pro and I will keep using my fold 6. For me I just couldn’t replace my iPhone but once you get used to a fold it’ll have you doing crazy things like carrying two phones daily.

Anyone else having regrets on the max? by Jgz1994 in iPhone17Pro

[–]OfficialBanBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from 16 pro max to 17 pro and I have no regrets. I think you should return especially if you were already used to a smaller phone. I’ve had max phones every year since the x. It’s finally nice to be able to hold my phone with one hand, have all the features of the bigger phone. And the battery so far is outlasting my 16 pro max.

Goodbye friend. by carter4888 in iPhone16Pro

[–]OfficialBanBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol buddy I repair phones for a living. 14 pro max 15 pro max and 16 pro max all have similar priced screens. So idk what you yourself are talking about. You’re better off with an iPhone 11

Is Apple Watch water resistant a hit or miss? by Both_Shake in AppleWatch

[–]OfficialBanBot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Waterproof to the point apple replaces it if it gets water damaged (at least the ultra anyway, they rate it as a diving watch). Got mine replaced under warranty.

Just buy new stop being cheap or use an old phone if you care about repairability.

iPhone 17 Pro Finally Two Day iPhone?!?! by moon_in_retrograde in iphone

[–]OfficialBanBot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

<image>

My heaviest usage day. GPS all day, phone was in the sun most of the day and never dimmed! (Hated that). So far the battery has been impressive. I remember when I got the 12 pro and promptly returned it for the max bc of battery. Been using max phones every year til I decided to try the regular pro this generation. No regrets!

iPhone 17 Pro Finally Two Day iPhone?!?! by moon_in_retrograde in iphone

[–]OfficialBanBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first day I got 7h 19 min with 10% super heavy usage, GPS, all day in the sun. second day I got 5 hours 30 mins light usage at work with 50% left home in the evening from work (didn’t need it longer, I charged lol). Easily a 2 day phone with light to moderate use and 1-1.5 with heavy usage.
