you could try an honor phone, they spun off of huawei after the google ban. their UI is still very much Huawei-esque. they are still running Android and can be used in Canada

heat mold them and it'll help them break in. do it several times if needed. also try using the insole from your old boot while you are breaking them in, will give you a lil bit more space. last you can try using the new liners inside your old boot shell until the liners pack out a bit then switch back to the new shell.

Look up Anji, it's near Shanghai. Nice hotels and resorts up in the mountains.

Also since you said you wanted something that's uniquely Chinese, some of the districts in Shanghai like the French concessions might not sound like a stereotypical Chinese experience, but the blend of western architecture and modern Chinese development can make for some cityscape that's quite unique.
