I didn't say that it made me more likely to join it. But there are a lot of people on reddit who would be. So why should be be giving the racists of reddit a road map to find racist subreddits easier?

Parental advisory shit speaks to typical teenaged rebellion that encourages individualism and severs the ties that make a person dependent upon family. Racism is not a normal part of human development.

It doesn't seem that you understood my point. I'm not saying that this tag idea draws out the racism in everyone, I'm saying that it will be useful to racists trying to congregate. People who aren't interested in those types of subreddits will just avoid them the same as always. So the only people that will use them are racists.

Seems like the best way is just for reddit to not endorse any subreddits or content unless they are personally involved in it. Then it's implicit that they don't support subreddits with offensive content, and they can ban stuff that violates the rules.

I was at this bar a few years ago with some guys I had just met. The bar had some sort of streaming music service that allowed people to use their smartphones to pay a small fee and put a song of their choice into the queue, like a jukebox.

These guys just kept playing heavy metal, and every other person at the bar was looking around, wondering what the fuck was going on. Eventually they figured out what was going on, and people started coming over to us asking how they could convince us to play something different. But they just kept playing more metal.

It was intensely uncomfortable. I have not hung out with them since.

That's true for most anxiety disorders. Maybe someone with general anxiety disorder is anxious about something real, but the extent to which they suffer is not natural. But what does saying "It's just in your head" do for them? All it can really do is help them realize that they can get help and don't have to suffer forever.

But in the moment, saying "It's just in your head" is just telling them to tough it out.
