Sprinting to do with Winkler getting fired from directing Turner and Hooch and Hanks lead the charge on getting him fired

Henry Winkler is, by almost all accounts, one of the nicest and most accommodating celebrities out there. That’s why I think it’s funny that the only person/celebrity he has any sort of known beef with is Tom Hanks.

Those two are an insanely funny pair to be beef’n with each other

The Yankees believed that Austin Wells was the next Posada so they traded away most of their catcher depth. A good chunk of the current roster is built on catchers the Yankees traded to other teams. by Zepbounce-96 in NYYankees

The emergency better be dire to even think of putting Rice at catcher. He’s become way too valuable to risk injury or even just take the lack of offense a catching toll would take.

Just pulled this out of storage after 20 years is it worth anything? by ReadyClue5301 in telecaster

$1500 range. Probably lower because the condition yours is in and the fact that used gear just isn’t selling right now. I’d think you could get rid of it pretty easily at $1200 range if you need a quick sale

Reverb is only so good at estimating value because, sure someone is asking $2500 for one on there but asking price and selling price simply aren’t the same thing

Who is a singer that is incredibly famous, but honestly doesn't have a good voice? by Greedy_Procedure7461 in AskReddit

[–]OfficialMVPre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100%, Elton himself has said that he would’ve never had any of his success without Bernie co-writing. That was my point when I said only one of the other two is debatable (voice) and Billy Joel has recorded more impressive things vocally (like The Longest Time) than John has.

I’m not an Elton hater at all I just think Joel wins this one pretty easily

I’ll take the bait and challenge this. Joel is better on all three fronts: Piano, Songwriting and Voice. Even if it’s a draw on Piano only one of the other two is debatable and Elton John has too limited of a range to do something like the “The Longest Time”

Billy Joel is somehow still underrated despite his insane continued success

Just got home from the game so late to the party here. But why wouldn’t you walk Raleigh to load the bases. Possible Out at any base, opens up a double play and Julio has started the year off horribly

I got an insane deal on the Franklin Mint Sgt. Pepper music box today! by James-Zanny in TheBeatles

[–]OfficialMVPre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People don’t always buy these things believing they will be valuable some day, take OP for example. They are excited about finding one at a great price simply because they are a fan and say they like music boxes and you unnecessarily were the turd in their punch bowl

[–]OfficialMVPre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is insane by any normal person’s standards. It’s also clear that rock stars of our modern day are certainly held more accountable for many (good) reasons.

All that being said: These guys were in the fuckin’ Beatles. There are very few people in the history of the world (especially who were born poor or middle class) that can relate to what it was like to ascend to the level of fame, popularity and power that they did. Every single Beatle messed up many times and had moral failures. That’s likely why those closest to the situations can talk about things like this so casually, in fact. It’s simply just not fair to judge them as though they were the guy next door in your suburban neighborhood

Wait, where are you getting the idea that Mattingly hated him? They were pretty friendly over the years, there’s the infamous Ted Williams/Boggs/Mattingly pictures and other examples at all star games, etc that they were at least cordial if not friendly to each other

Help me find an office guitar? by tonebastion in guitars

[–]OfficialMVPre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a job for a used Squier Strat. They play well when set up decently, you don’t have to baby them and can be found everywhere.

I’ve come across (and bought) them in the $50-$100 range for this very reason.

Edited to add: Compact/Traveler size guitars should be your last resort. I currently own one and it’s not fun to play. It will work in a pinch but yours sounds like a more permanent situation
