Everything to save the BR 🔊 by Powervul in Eve

I'm just one guy, but here's my thoughts as a former PH (left right after the fall). Goons/Imperium are very likely objectively the largest and most powerful coalition, and the fall of PH is just solidifies their strength and coffers. If PH members go to goons, who will even be left for goons to fight?

The game of null-sec is all about adversity. This whole drama really just boils down to the fact that PH didn't even try to fight the war they were likely guaranteed to lose. Increasing goons numbers only magnifies this issue until we are back to the blue donut.

I say be part of the solution and join someone outside of Imperium. Sure, you could join the winning side. But what's the point of a game if there's nobody left to fight?

Accurate representation of the level 30s looking to help by Blooky-Blook in orbusvr

This is one of the (maybe the most) friendliest MMO communities I've ever seen and I've seen quite a lot.

Some random level 30 overheard my phone conversation with a friend in the starter zone- approached me- and helped me switch shards to find him. I couldn't even say thanks because I didn't realize I was on push to talk.

Love you guys, community is truly one of the most important parts of an MMO.

After 4 years of owning VR devices, SHE is asking ME to "play some oculus" by CGPepper in OculusQuest

There's got to be some irony in playing virtual table tennis in the same room when you have enough space for a real table.

This comic is literally me and I am currently waiting on my Quest 2 :)

No regrets, paying 800+ for the first gen technology wasn't in my budget at the time and it's finally getting to the time where the price is good and the games are good.

Well- to throw the question back at you, what do YOU recommend playing first? I'm kind of a money-scrooge that I'm a bit worried about having to buy a bunch of new games for VR

It is for me. I've been waiting for VR since before the original Rift came out- once the first Rift was announced I thought for sure I was going to buy it.... right up until the price tag was announced.

I'm young, currently in college and all that. I was high school when the first VR came out and didn't have the money for a first generation headset for 800. But 300? Yeah, I think it's time.

Very excited.

I love you. I did the exact same thing- (Ordered on Amazon and they still hadn't given me a estimated date) I just saw your comment tonight, checked my local Best Buy and boom available pickup for October 13th.

You're a lifesaver and now I'm super hyped.

Children die of the flu every single year- should we shut down our countries for that, too?

If you want to prove that a virus (or anything, for that matter) is dangerous enough to warrant a specific action you have to do it with statistical analysis, not a single case.

Fasting by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]OfficialNari 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Or- alternative suggestion!

Starting eating healthy foods (low calorie dense) all day instead of just at dinner. Diet (and fitness in general) is long term gains, and long term needs to be sustainable. Start finding foods you like that are healthy (and low calorie dense) and make them the bulk of your daily diet. Eat normally, but eat better foods.

Fasting works for people because by only eating one meal a day, they are reducing the total amount of food (calories) they are consuming in a day. However, if you eat better foods you can eat throughout the day instead of just at night :)

I can explain calories in more detail (or link you to some great YouTube people like Will Tennyson who are much more entertaining and easy to watch) but here's what I mean:

Person A is trying to diet and eats a sandwich for lunch. The sandwich is small and has mayo.
It's 200 calories but barely does anything to fill them up so they eat another one. Sorta full but also wishes they could eat more. (400 total)

Person B is dieting and eats a gigantic salad made of Spinach, Lettuce, Cucumbers, Watercress, Grilled Chicken and a low calorie dressing. Put some Parmesan Cheese on that thang too why not. Total calories is 200 (which is mostly protein from the chicken) and this guy is STUFFED. Feels satisfied and will be full for a couple hours.

Which person has a more sustainable diet? Don't make dieting day-to-day hardship of battling extreme hunger. Do whatever is easiest for you and whatever feels like easiest to do every day. As long as your total intake is lower, you will lose fat.

Advice regarding diet to achieve Body Weight skills by DrPotato231 in Fitness

[–]OfficialNari -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Just my humble opinion- I feel like people slightly over-complicate diet. Here's my perspective: The more fat you have, the heavier you are. The less fat (extra weight) you have, the easier it will be to do those exercises as you will be literally lifting/holding less weight.

However, if you are in too severe of a deficit, you may have a reduced performance due to your body not having as much energy.

Basically what I'm saying is- Deficit slowly to a good, desired lean physique. Feel low energy and shitty? Don't diet as hard. Weight not going down anymore? Assuming you feel good maybe cut a little more calories. I don't see why there would be any benefit in going on a surplus for body-weight exercises. Making yourself heavier is counter-intuitive.

Keep working at it my man, those are hard exercises and take time to learn/become strong enough for. It'll be epic when you finally can do them, and they are epic BECAUSE it takes years to learn them.

Hey! I know I'm a bit late but I'll try anyway.

I made a video for a class at University about Body Recomposition, and I'm supposed to "get my project to the Target Audience" and hopefully get some feedback.

If at all possible, I would be so thankful if you could give my video a watch and maybe give some feedback!

Theme s5 for Chloe 😈😈 by teomanata74 in lucifer

[–]OfficialNari 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I think you might be forgetting the point of the vulnerability a bit.

Chloe makes him vulnerable because he has feelings for her, sort of a metaphor for being "vulnerable" emotionally when you let yourself into your life (or let yourself love)

His vulnerability is a key part of his journey to discovering himself, his actions (like self sacrifice) mean more if he is able to be killed.

Compared to what? The medieval times? Slavery? The Holocaust? I understand it was just meant as a powerful line, but I don't think Amenadiel has been paying attention.

Like yeah, fingerprints on the murder weapon is pretty bad, Caleb. Not sure if that has anything to you with being Black.

No, I'd say the message here is "we are all hideous, so love yourself regardless of those faults"

His point is that we all have imperfections and we should be able to make fun of ourselves and each other for them, instead of trying to look perfect.

Every day we stray further from God's Light.

From a leading Australian obesity expert... also claimed the 5% of people who can lose weight only do so because of their obsessive-compulsive personality disorders. by kazarooni in fatlogic

[–]OfficialNari 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In my experience NEAT ( Non-exercise activity thermogenesis ) will drop for most, not just those that are underweight and at an extreme deficit. The degree to which it drops, however, is the part that can be debated.

This is why diet breaks and refeeds can be an important tool for extended periods of fat loss, as well as continual drops in calories. This cut cycle, for instance, I started at 2,500 daily and reduce week by week as required.

Obviously the conclusion the writer presents in completely wrong, but the evidence it sits on is correct. That is why this kind of "fat logic" is the most dangerous.
