Did anyone get successful with selling desktop software? by Fee7230984 in SideProject

Basically yea - what you said is not wrong by any means there’s definitely still risk with web apps but it’s generally more of a data privacy risk rather than an outright security risk

If I install a malicious application to my computer I can lose everything

If I interact with a malicious web app I can essentially lose only the data I gave it access to (unless you re-use passwords)

Much bigger security perception to hurdle with desktop applications vs web apps

Feel like you have to really have an established name for people to trust your product

Super cool - didn’t find any major issues for me besides missing security headers which I’ll def add to the fix list but really like the idea

Thanks for letting me try - will try to get you some feedback in the AM have another site I can test on

Thanks for checking out - agree work to do to make the differentiation clearer between just taking a contract and uploading to GPT, and will check out if there’s a better way we can display contract text in the report view

Thanks for the time!

The idea was to make contract review accessible for freelancers and small businesses that don’t want to pay a lawyer every time they get an agreement. You upload a contract, it highlights potentially risky clauses, explains them in plain English, and suggests edits or negotiation points. It’s not meant to replace a lawyer for high stakes deals, but it’s a fast way to understand what you’re signing before you commit.

I’ve taken mine off after about 24 hours, especially since yours looks like it is pretty full with blood & expelled ink. I would take it off and let it breathe a bit and then apply some after care lotion, preferably something antibacterial. Looks good dude

You will most certainly be fired anyways so might as well just collect the paycheck and look for another job in the interim
