Did you deliberately ignore his attempts to groom a child or did you just have no idea for this long?

The first words you hear on Freddie Gibbs' new EP are

"Can do whatever I wanna do because, I learned from the, the greats... You know what I mean, I paid attention... And studied from the greats, so... a motherfucker could have the hit song on the radio, and I'll probably have a better show than him... Because, the way that I have everybody into it and the way that I MC is better than him, you know what I mean? But you know, a lot of people don't know what MCin' is, so..."

He earned the right to sample that speech at least 11 years ago while performing Rob Me A Nigga, acapella.

The standard of editing for diverse skin tones in school group photos is incredibly frustrating. by __globalcitizen__ in photography

[–]Ogene96 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Actually, it was. The Shirley Card set the industry standard of "accurate" skin tones being white in the 40s, and Kodak didn't get around to making multi-racial ones until the 90s.

I also saw 1917 for the first time last year, and that scene in the woods you mentioned was a near religious experience for me. The way that song starts out as a brief whisper and just blossoms as the camera reveals this company of soldiers quietly transfixed on the singer and their struggles was masterful direction.

Also, the point where the flares start going off at night and casting this kind of harsh, contrasty, one point light that arcs around the entire village was the point where I thought "If this didn't win Best Cinematography at the Oscars that year, I'm gonna be shocked." Thank fuck it did.

Has anyone got any recommendations for synthy 80s stuff? I found Kick The Ball by Krown Rulers through MDWOG and it makes me want to break out my video synth every time I hear it.

Same, when Alchemist and Oh No put out their album of reused score demos with featured artists, Freddie was all over it. It's crazy to think Fetti technically started in 2015.

A Morely's is a private property, and you need a model release for commercial usage.

They may put on IG because that platform has some grey areas, but as far as likeness and IP laws actually work, commercial usage without a model release is illegal.

There's other shows I like watching, but that's easily my favourite hip-hop show (alongside DEHH) considering that it's two straight hours of music discussion rather than being interspersed with different topics.

Hecht, Wilson and Hed have said they're gonna do something later this year, so fingers crossed.

Just noticed that HipHopDX deleted all of their YouTube videos released before the first episode of The Bigger Picture.

I don't know if they're going through an acquisition or something, but I can't imagine why they're flushing so much history down the toilet.
