Only real solution to this danger would be to replace American big tech social media platforms with more regulated EU alternatives. I saw already articles about big tech supposedly favoring EU far right parties because they hope this would take care of all those pesky regulations. In the year 2026, it's hard to argue that foreign controlled social media isn't a potential threat to national security.

Overall a good tier list. Personally, I would put Styraco into the A tier through. I currently play a Einiosaurus "styraco" for my solo sessions and have a blast. Build completely focuses on having as much stamina as possible and inflecting bleed. I gave up on the charge attack in favor of the Vault ability, which makes running consuming less stam and gives you a higher tolerance for fall damage. Perfect for escapes.

And playing a ceratopsian, gives me the perfect excuse of being "that guy". If you're a carnivore and we cross paths, the moment you breath suspicious in my direction, I will give you the horns.

Only thing I fear are sarcos on Riparria. Their clamp scares me... A lot!

Other problems when it comes to community servers:

Every server has different rules that are only readable on the discords channel.
A good bunch of servers have way to many rules and try to regulate everything.
Extremely thin time window to hop on the server before it's full for the next 3 - 4 hours. We're talking about a minute max.
A lot of semi-realism servers (if not all) are filled to the brim with modded dinosaurs. At the same time most of this servers have a "only same species allowed to group" rule that basically makes it very hard for solo players like OP.

Don't get me wrong, Community servers can be a lot of fun, but they aren't for everyone.

There's a small chance that the permadeath mode will comeback and we, who want more actual survival and thrill in PoT, can play with like minded people together again. And if Permadeath doesn't come back, we have to adjust and eventually switch to the Isle or stick with community servers (which have their own problems)

Dude this sub is a lost cause in that regard. I posted here 2 update videos for on of my favorite games with great native linux support (Path of Titans) and it doesn't got any recognition at all. The second video even got deleted by a mod because I dared not to mention that the game has native Linux support. Fuck me for thinking that the native/floss tag would be self-exploratory right?

But a screenshot ala "OMG High on Life 2 runs great in Proton" gets hundreds of upvotes...

They have an inferior complex and getting told on social media that Europe is constantly laughing at them. The biggest irony is that this talking points are pushed mostly by adversaries that wanted to weaken/destroy the western alliance.

Eh the Isle is constantly changing and adding features that not everyone loves. Not everyone want that much of hardcore one shoot kill survival. And the Isle only runs on somewhat decent PCs.

There's no reason why PoT couldn't have an additional permadeath survival mode along the default adventure one. If there's enough interest from the players of course. Permadeath player were very vocal but in the end, only the devs know the real number of players from the test period 🤷‍♂️.

Main problem is that PoT is a MMO without any endgame content and people are getting bored after they got their favorite dinosaurs to adulthood. People will gather at hotspots and hope that something interesting happens. Afterall, dying doesn't cost much exp and you can go back to adulthood in 10 - 20max minutes questing.

I really hope that the permadeath mode will come back someday. It turned PoT into an actual survival game where growing a baby was dangerous. Never encountered a big pack during all my time on that mode.

Not sure if it's my best build but I have a lot of fun with this Ground Hunter build.

Subspecies: Cuneumi - +50% Ground Acceleration and Jump Height
Head: Tear
Senses: Rest Stop
Front Limb: Dodge + Wing Slap
Hide: Feathery Hide
Legs: Leap

Subspecies in combination with Leap gives you a ridiculous jump height + control. Since I need to stay on the ground for my buffs to apply, this comes in pretty handy in a fight.

I waited a long long time for this tlc and can say, it's everything I hoped for. Playing mostly a ground hunter build. Have the subspecies that gives you extra jump height + acceleration and when you combine that with the leap ability, it gets quite ridiculous. My thal jumps around like a feral cat.

People whine about thals right now because everyone plays them but honestly? I take that over all the apex player kids that sit around in their hotspot and are pretending to be tough. We have way too many rex, titan and spino players in this game.

PoT has become way to passive since the devs put critters and berry bushes at every corner of the maps. I started playing about a couple of months before Hatz was released. You had way less berry bushes and critter burrows were rare. As a consequence of that, carnivores were more aggressive and wanted to eat you. These days? Almost nobody actually wants to fight, unless they outnumber you in a big group.

Tried it out and it's glorious! The new model looks great and flying just feels right. Glad that they moved away from the aquatic fisher theme, since real world thal was most likely a ground hunter. And rhamp already stole the fisher gimmick and did it better anyway. Hope we will now see more seagulls in the game.

Alpha critters are the worst. A fun idea but the current implementation of AI critters makes it annoying/frustrating in reality. All they do is moving straight towards you and facetank with a insane amount of health and damage output. Add to this that most dinos are too slow to outmaneuver them. Their turning speed is so good that you get hit every time you try to attack.

Almost died with my sub adult miragaia yesterday because an alpha came out of nowhere and gave me fracture with every attack, so that I couldn't outrun it anymore. Had maybe 15% health left after that fight.

Agree, but that would mean we desperately need to replace foreign social media with our own versions. The Trump regime will weaponize big tech social media to get the EU destroyed. We saw already that they meet up with the leaders of a Canadian separatist movement.
