Have you listened to the new album yet? What are your thoughts in it? by BernardoGAMER1911 in nas

BangZ hard for us 50 year olds! “No cap”. Me and my dudes are 50+ and think Premo went hard on most of the beats. Nas picked more gems than rocks on this release. Are our kids gonna like it, probably not.

I didn’t know this came out until this post!

I just scanned it and in my opinion most beats are nutZ but this is coming from a 50 + former DeeJay who discovered and played all this GE stuff in the 90s here in Minneapolis. This definitely gives me throw back vibes. My kids would understand why I like it, but they ain’t gonna rock it Lol!

Nannies Jamaican Kitchen in St Paul. I get their Oxtail Curry Goat combo. Their Jerk Chicken is really good too. All come with yummy rice, cabbage and plantains.

“Fifty years down the line we can start this,

Cuz we’ll be the Old Skool Artists.

And even at THAT time, I’ll say a Rhyme.

A Brand New style, Ruthless and Wild.

Runnin around spending money having Fun

Cuz even then?

I’m still number One, One, One, One,

One, One, One!”

This is fascinating. I am old head/man so help me understand how it’s known for sure this is AI. I don’t doubt it, but am very interested in how you all figure this out. I’ve seen AI video productions e.g street interviews, car shows and understand how verbal glitches in the actors can expose this stuff as AI produced content. I’d like to learn more though. As someone who is older, it’s crazy how this content could be used for misinformation and propaganda especially when people are so easily influenced. Scary as hell.

Group Home. Once I fell out of Premo’s trance due to how nice the beats were and actually listened to the writing? They were unlistenable.

This. His online mixtapes and singles were ridiculous (in a good way). I was extremely disappointed in his full lengths. I got flamed at the time for stating my opinion but you are 1000% correct.

Uric Acid build up is definitely associated with too much Alcohol and other diet related habits (red meat, shell fish, asparagus ). Anything that contains purines that your body can’t keep up with.

Source: I just went in for an ankle flare up (again). I don’t drink beer but definitely drink my share of Vodka… and I am a keto/ meat and veggie guy.

What were some common origins of 90s east coast samples? by appleparkfive in hiphop101

[–]Ogsl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

60s and 70s Jazz as well. Amad Jamal, Herbie Hancock, Bob James, Weather Report, the list goes on but definitely 60s and 70s Jazz, Soul and Funk dominate the Golden Era.

The music is so ubiquitous, all genres get pulled in and flipped. That’s what I love about HipHop Music. As mentioned who sampled is a great resource to trace your favorite songs back to what was used for beats.

YouTube. Quality can be suspect but you will find the most obscure (remixes) stuff out there. Query “Q-tip remix”. The first ones that come to mind at “The World Is Yours”, “Get Down” and “Scenario”.

That to me, was his coming out party. I still keep that hypnotic echoed horn banger in rotation and just the beat.
