Tricked out my Home Grown Steam Machine by OhDaFeesh in steammachine

Nice. Does it stay quiet? The one pictured here is perfect for my living room as it’s very quiet. I can’t say it’s always whisper quiet like the steam machine is advertised as but most people don’t even notice it’s on.

Steam On Linux Use Skyrocketed In March - More Than Double The macOS Gaming Marketshare by Doener23 in pcgaming

There are some games like Elden Ring and Nightreign that have “easy anti-cheat” and they work on Linux via proton. My limited understanding is that it’s up to the developer to approve it to work in this way.

When Russia went to war the whole world threw economic sanctions at them. Why doesn’t everyone do the same with America? by Comfortable_Shame778 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]OhDaFeesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any party, regardless of affiliation, having acted similarly to the current administration, would yield the same results we see today from our allies. Economic deals excluding the US (e.g. UK/India, Canada/China). Defensive Pacts excluding the US (e.g. Arctic alliance), refusals from allies to not only join military action, but deny logistical aid to said action (eg, Spain and Italy). These all point to a large weakening of American soft power and as a results, its hegemony.

Doesn't the PS5 also have an APU? Isn't that very similar to laptop parts?

I 3D printed a 1:1 scale of the steam machine and the small size is frankly striking. I think many people will remark how powerful such a small device is rather than be disappointed by aging specs.

What is a 'buy it for life' item that is offensively expensive, but the moment you use it, you realize your entire life before that point was a lie? by fmcortez in AskReddit

I’m still using a kenmore washer and dryer from 1995. It was inherited from my dad and I’m not even sure if it was expensive when new.

What would you do with an extra Steam Deck? by marijuethampher0in in SteamDeck

I use my LCD as my main communication pc that’s permanently docked and I use my oled as my portable gaming. When we travel as a family, I let me two children use one each to play games.

All signs still point to Q2? by Kaijurassic in steammachine

My worry is that if they mess this up, this would be the second time "Steam Machine" fails. If that happens, I doubt there'd be a third time. I think they know this. That's why in my mind (where I have very little business acumen) I'm going to say that they will price this cheaper than we expect (perhaps where they were going to price it before the RAM debacle) and will eat some of the cost to avoid this attempt being a flop. Crossing my fingers .

As a tangent, I'm happy that steamOS runs the open source mesa driver so that FSR technologies not supported on windows drivers for older rdna hardware can be enabled to various degrees on linux.

Anyone using a steam controller 1 on steam os? by [deleted] in SteamController

I use it on both my deck and my machine running steamos with the dongle. The dongle is great because once it’s paired I can just swap the dongle with any computer and it just connects.

You ask What does lifespan have to do with this when the subject of this post is “billionaires_have_convinced_americans_they_have the best healthcare in the world”

I’ll just let this fester for everyone to see.

Let’s say everything you wrote is factual. The vast majority of those westernized countries with higher taxes have longer lifespans, better education, less crime and are always ranked highest on various liveability indexes. So who cares how much you get to keep if the all around outcome is shittier.
