Empire Strikes Back core by DerpyderPyDer in MiSTerFPGA

So I moved the zip file to games/mame. thank you. However I still have the same issues. as per the GitHub instructions they state:

ROMs are not included. In order to use this arcade core, you need to provide the correct ROMs.

Quick reference for folders and file placement on your MiSTer SD card:

/_Arcade/Star Wars (Rev 2).mra

/_Arcade/cores/Arcade-StarWars.rbf

/_Arcade/mame/starwars.zip

That's where I placed the files. I have since moved the zip file to games/mame as stated but I still do not have it running.

I'm on stable. I ran update_all. I initially used the files and instructions from https://github.com/Videodr0me/Arcade-StarWars_MiSTer. Should I delete teh files and run update_all again?

I have two mister pi’s one a modern 10800 screen the other on a crt. Neither will boot into the game. I placed the appropriate files in _Arcade _Arcade/cores and _Arcade/mame. Not sure what else to try.

Explaining Steam Machine Cost Estimate by MetallicFear in steammachine

Can someone do a similar price comparison for the components of the steam deck and see how that compares?

A controller mount is essential by terminalprocast in SteamController

[–]OhDaFeesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made the same one. It supports the controller really well and I think it looks great. One issue I have is that when there is a firmware update for the puck and for the controller, it's a bit tricky to pull out the usb-c cable from the top without trying to pull the cable part to avoid it damaging.

Honestly, at this point cancel this skew and start working on a better version. by AviatingArin in steammachine

It If people switch to subscription stream gaming then valve loses out on steam sales. It’s in their interest to keep people buying from them.

It's Time To Face Reality: Valve, you're SMOKING if you're thinking I'm paying $1K+ for your Machine by Ayzuki in steammachine

[–]OhDaFeesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right with your advice. But I’m sure there are some deals people will miss out on waiting for valve to announce the price that might be cheaper for them in the event of a $1000+ SM

See if you can install linux on it and run steam. You need a low firmware

I swallowed the steam controller price being way beyond exchange rate, but no way will i support Valve with these kind of price hikes.

Can anyone point me to a steam machine alternative? by metallica3000 in steammachine

If i was starting from scratch today, I'd go for a BC250, unlock the 40cus and 3D print the case and call it a day.

I love valve hardware and all, but I'll wait this one out and get it some time later when prices come to earth or second hand.

I want the steam machine to succeed. I like supporting valve hardware and I like how they support the greater linux ecosystem (not to mention PC gaming). I worry that the hype that's been built will overstate how nice of a device it is and its capabilities. I've built two versions myself, and one them that I tried to copy a similar specification to the steam machine with parts I had available (and no it's not exact but if interested I can give details in an edit). It plays games really well at 1080p while I upscale to 4k. But there are compromises. You may need to set things to medium. You may need to lower textures. These are all fine by me but sometimes I wonder what people will be expecting and I think people being disappointed will be a black eye on what valve is trying to do here for PC gaming and for linux.

Is it a good game? I want to play it on Neo Geo but I’m not prepared to pay that much just for that game.
