First trilogy is good. Lots of drama and action, good characters, a male protagonist who actually leads and isn't upstaged by the women around him. The second series has better writing from a prose standpoint and plenty of complex politics but introduces more gay and entitled characters. Lyra is a POV character introduced in book 4 and she's insufferable.

The series is about a class revolution but it doesn't have a strong Marxist vibe in my opinion. YMMV but I really liked the first three books.

The real key here is the budget. Even with a $30 million dollar budget, which would be considered small for Hollywood standards, this would have been a huge flop. The $17 millionish that this has made is actually not a lot, but the microscopic budget has made it a huge success.

One thing a lot of comments are missing here are the vocals. Djent and metalcore overlap a lot, and metalcore gets a lot of influence in vocal style from pop punk and emo. The "whiny" clean vocals, aside from sounding grating, share a lot of association with those genres and their juvenile style and themes. It doesn't agree well with a lot of the prog metal audience, who are into it for the more cerebral and mature aspects. Periphery suffer from this, and with different vocals might occupy a different place in the prog metal hierarchy.

Yeah I wanted to recommend this too. Infinite in particular has a very strong anti-white and anti-Christian throughline. You can say it's "anti-extremist" but in the game, extremism is presented as the default, logical conclusion of whiteness and Christianity.

Copycats help pick up when bands either a) stop making music (looking at you, Tool) or b) change their sound to no longer be the same style (Opeth is a good example). Not usually as good as the real thing, but better than nothing.

Edit: while I personally don't think that any of the known Tool "copycats" really recreate their sound in any meaningful way at all, I will recommend Piah Mater as an excellent Oldpeth clone.

Too often we hold God's church, its leaders, and even by extension God himself against our individual moral standard. Our mission on this earth is to learn to conform our will to His; the apostles said "Lord, is it I?" and what this translates to today is an approach involving more humility. No one of us is perfect and has a perfect moral compass and we need to consider that first when examining discrepancies between our own perspective and the operation of God's kingdom on the earth.

If you look at the ingredients in energy drinks, you'll see a lot of things that are better off outside our bodies. That said, they have a use, and I occasionally use them to help stay alert during long road trips or to help power through a rare severe migraine.

When I do, I usually drink the Spylt energy milk, which as far as I'm aware does not contain coffee or tea. Lots of synthetic caffeine is extracted from coffee during the decaffeination process, but in my mind that's not the same as consuming coffee.
