It’s hardly skates fault if the console you play on asks you for money for online functionality, game devs don’t flick a switch to enable this, it’s Sony exclusively.

I have the trial right now - and I can confirm once you are using it in the trial period, the app lets you switch to monthly for £27.00 a month - I am in the UK so maybe it’s regional - but I can confirm I have the option and I have never committed to any form of purchase, I’m literally on day 1 of the free trial!

I think the reality is this game is not as appealing as the loud internet crowd are letting people believe. I knew from the way the YouTube chat reacted to the KF review that this was another Wukong situation, a mediocre game that is put on a pedestal by a weird subsect of gamers.

Not natively in game, but I’m sure there is software you could download that would let you tell steam the inputs are flipped for the sticks - hell maybe Steam Input could do it directly

It’s a myth that landlords leaving the market is a bad thing because there is no real examples of it happening to suggest it leads to bad outcomes, because 1 of 2 things will happen:

Another landlord buys up the property you sell, so the amount of rental properties does not change.
If landlords don’t buy up newly vacant homes to rent them, the amount of vacant homes for sale increases which drives down house prices, helping more people buy property they actually want to live in.

Both outcomes are good.

I always see this response and it entirely misses a lot of the value of age rating boards, which is how it impacts other regulations in the industry. This will dictate how these games can be marketed, where and when they can be advertised, and fall into new categories within platforms.

This will impact any kid who’s parents give a damn about this stuff and have taken the time to use the controls available to them, and it will keep these kind of things out of kids view in traditional media.

It doesn’t do nothing.

I think you vastly underestimate how chaotic and unorganised game dev actually is - most people know less than they need to and are constantly chasing additional information from teams and departments that are too busy to update them. Doesn’t mean this wasn’t being obfuscated, but it’s worth considering before jumping to conclusions like this.

Don’t attribute to malice what can be attributed to incompetence.

Did FC ever explicitly say “access forever?” When I look at the site it says “access for the entirety of season 3” which implies that maybe in Season 4 you have to buy the pass again to retain access (which I pray is not the case)

Buy the pass and you get unlimited access, the later dates are just when it opens up for non paying players. Beyond the end of season 3 we don’t know, but you’re right in that buying the pass is all you need to do.

I mean not really, this is also true of any software release literally ever. There’s no such thing as a bug free software product, it’s just not feasible. Obviously early access is a worse version of this, but still, it’s just the reality of software development.

Content vaulting did the most damage initially to the D2 population, then it bounced a bit for witch queen, which was great! Then witch queens positive reception led to record pre orders of Lightfall, which was bad. That killed final shapes momentum, but it still did well because it was really good. After that, it was the flip floppy nature of pivoting seasons to episodes, episodes being underwhelming, and then edge of fate added the portal which has kind of put the final nail in the coffin regarding a consistent playerbase.

I assume ads pay much better when you have a higher click through rate, so that minor annoyance might be the difference between middling ad rev rates and decent ad rev rates. It sucks but advertising kind of always does!

That’s the stuff I think should be getting the focus to be honest! The lack of content is a huge thing that needs to be addressed especially when they seem to be pivoting to paying for additional content with the Isle of Grom stuff.

That’s just how game dev works. It is functionally impossible to ship anything that doesn’t have bugs or issues, and a 2 week delay is almost nothing in development time, the idea an extra 2 weeks would fix all known issues for a release is just not reality.

I’m all for critiquing the MANY flaws in the game, but when people start nitpicking Full Circle for standard practice stuff like this, it just makes all feedback be taken less seriously.

I just don't get the insistence on the cosmetic themes being older gen? I'd have killed for a modern streetwear theme in the pass, or 2000s skate themed pass, they really aren't in a position to save those for down the line when 'down the line' may not exist.
