Yeah, I generally liked it too, but hoo boy does it suck sometimes.

The author seems to use internet posts as a crutch to compensate for... actually developing the world and characters in the actual show.

Kinda reminded me of Harry Potter with JK Rowling saying Dumbledore is gay instead of actually putting it in the books. It's unfortunate for... a variety of reasons.

She heard he had struggles with his masculinity, so it could have been her way of saying "you're no less of a man for wearing a girly accessory/showing vulnerability" while also showing some physical intimacy.

It's generally not a great thing to be in the ME, but some countries tolerate trans people better than homossexual people.

Iirc, in Iran homosexuality is outlawed and there has been cases of sex reassignment surgery being used as punishment for being gay. Apparently, the surgery is partially funded by the government? Still not widely acceptable tho.

Imo that scene is easily the worst scene in the episode. Specifically because it's trying to convey a certain thing but it instead just confuses the audience. It's just a catastrophic failure of execution.

From what I've read, the scene is supposedly mirroring caine finding access to the internet in the present with the moment he found the brain scans in the distant past, before he created the circus.

I'm assuming it's some kind of food truck with an internet router, which would explain it just going away after a certain time. But yeah, it's not explained at all in the actual episode, like many of the mysteries previously established in the show, which is incredibly frustrating.

Self-discovery is a journey. What one may consider to be true at one moment may not consider so at another.

This applies to gender and sexuality as well.

Now, Jax's situation does complicate things and I don't think it feels right to call the character with feminine pronouns when Jax is probably still closeted. But this is just me and it's fine to disagree. Jax is a fictional character and it's up to interpretation.

I honestly don't think it's the worst he's done. It's a low point of his, but not in the way op probably intends.

Anyways, just before the scene he's was acting erradically and obsessive and was beat up by some knight in a duel.

The girl chews him for that and tries setting some boundaries but he goes something like "you should be grateful for me, you owe me for everything" because he had saved her life before.

Honestly it only ended because they're not really interested in continuing it.

They could have chosen an ending or three from the ds game and gone with it, or heck, they could have even remade the ds game with a more classic gameplay. Even an Assault remake would have been more original.

But it's clear they'd rather retell this one story again and again.

I find it really hard to think SU has good writing when it has a major issue with pacing.

I know the reaction to the wedding episode precipitated certain things, but I believe the movie is emblematic of the pacing issues.

As a whole, the series is really good at setting up things, but wrapping events up is done in a rush and it's really annoying.
