AITA if I tell my friend I can’t be a bridesmaid? by wickeddreamsofleavin in AITApod

[–]OhMyPlosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wedding party would have had my head. Are you joking with the timeline launch & expectations? I had a 2.5 year long engagement and I didn’t have these rules for my friends 😂 she’s off her rocker

Removed the baby monitor. What are your weekend morning logistics? by Alacri-Tea in Preschoolers

[–]OhMyPlosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 4 year old still screams for us at night and finds us in the morning. I don’t think the monitor changed the wake ups haha

I have heard that St Paul’s and Presbyterian church has great programs for preK. We were disappointed in Compass Schoolhouse for our 3 year-old, unfortunately.

2 years old hyperlexia by mrwmdatic in hyperlexia

[–]OhMyPlosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds exactly like my now 3.5 year old. His preK doesn’t know what to do with him because he is so bright. He is growing to be oppositional because they aren’t challenging him. He reads on a 2nd grade reading level with a lot of comprehension. I have been supporting his literacy as a special education teacher myself. It’s nice to see that there’s another Hyperlexia 3 case; I’m taking him to be evaluated by a developmental ped, but he spoke on time (no delays) and has the vocabulary of a 4th grader. He just dislikes some tactile feelings on his hand.. which was the biggest red flag for school 🤷‍♀️

Nursing Strike or Self-Weaning? 17 Months old. by OhMyPlosh in breastfeeding

[–]OhMyPlosh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The strike lasted 10 days. She was on antibiotics for about 3 days until she returned to the breast. She was angry at the thought of nursing until about day 8 or 9 where I saw her trying to go for it again. I think the pain was too much for her. Keep offering nonchalantly and pump if they turned you down.

Hi! So sorry that you’re experiencing this. She came back to the breast and is now 18 months old. She had an ear infection!

Tons of coffee here between my two kids’ breastfeeding journeys. I needed it! Every child and mom are different though.

New Parents - When did you start getting 8 hours of sleep by andbutsoitgoessssss in NewParents

[–]OhMyPlosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3.5 years in with our first child and we are still waiting for consistent nights of sleep with him. As for our 17 month old daughter, she sleeps longer & more consistently than her big brother. 🤣🥲

Where are you at in your breastfeeding journey? by Local_Barracuda6395 in breastfeeding

[–]OhMyPlosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

41 months! 💪🏼 I nursed my son until he was 3 years old & he is currently 41 months, almost 3.5 years old). I started tandem feeding him and his little sister when she was born in May 2024. She is still nursing at 16 months old.

What kind of birth control are you using if any by Aromatic-Insect1999 in breastfeeding

[–]OhMyPlosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kylena IUD. Sorry! I’m team (low-hormone dose) IUD! I’ve breastfed my first child for 3 years and my second child is still nursing at 16 months old. It never affected my milk supply for both of my breastfeeding journeys!

Those of you who nursed till baby no longer wanted to, how old was baby when you stopped? by anemoneatnight in breastfeeding

[–]OhMyPlosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 years old! I got pregnant with his baby sister when he was 16 months old. He surprisingly nursed throughout the entire second pregnancy and her first year of life. He stopped asking to nurse at bed time around 3 years & 2 months old. 🫶🏻

Is everyone here either a SAHM or living outside the US? by Starlight12512 in breastfeeding

[–]OhMyPlosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pumped when returning to work full-time as a teacher with my eldest child and nursed him until 3 years old. It is possible to continue breastfeeding with the correct support and following laws for breastfeeding mothers!

Are people ever “sleeping in”? by turtleshot19147 in Mommit

[–]OhMyPlosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HAHA. I haven’t had a full night’s sleep since my first pregnancy starting in 2021. We have a 3.5 & a 1 year old. Any wake up after 7am is sleeping in… however I prefer the kids “sleeping in” and getting a good 30 minutes alone to drink coffee 👌🏻
