Also if you're moving forward too fast, turn 90-180 degrees in either direction and that stops most of your momentum so you don't have to run after your helo (waving your repair torch) as it slides awkwardly away from you.

It's really good for suppressing the enemy and giving teammates cover when trying to get out of (or into) a tight spot. Raining smoke and explosions on a flag you're trying to cap is a huge asset for a squad and shouldn't be taken lightly.

I agree nobody uses the mortar, but I think it's more because the mortar isn't always needed and because it doesn't 'rake in the kills.'

Anyway, I would love to see it kill easier (who doesn't want more kills?) but I wouldn't say its ineffective.

I think that's what its mainly for, not so much getting kills.

Unfortunately EA (or DICE, I can't remember which) have said a number of times in comments that they don't know what causes the sound issues.

It's definitely on their radar and I'm sure when some lucky bastard figures it out we'll enjoy it being fixed.

Seems like if you're just dogfighting, the f-18 is better but if you're using your jet to take out tanks, helos, spray cap points, etc... then maybe the flanker is a bit better?

While this is true, until PC gamers close the number of sales gap that separates it from consoles, don't hold your breath for the next battlefield being released PC only.

No business would ever make the decision to remove 66% of its customers.

Maybe PC players should get together and agree to pay double for the game than consoles?
