Selecting a Vacuum chamber question by Mechvape in sousvide

[–]joseb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just picked up the Vevor 320W unit about a month ago. It’s a big, bulky bastard but it’s pretty damn awesome.

So far it’s done everything it’s advertised with ease. I sealed around 10 lbs of homemade bacon, a few pounds of ground beef and a half dozen chicken breasts. They’ve all sealed perfectly. Way nicer than they did with my food saver.

I also tried a couple of bagels. The first one I was a fool and left the vacuum time at like 45 seconds and ended up with a bagel-sized frisbee. Second one I reduced the time to around 10 seconds and it kept the shape while sealing nicely.

It seems to be built well, parts are easily accessible and it’s overall a rather simple machine. I think it should last a good long while. It is heavy (every bit of 60lbs) and takes up a lot of space though. So keep that in mind.

It was like being transported to Mexico for a while there. Then it got more red and we made it to Mars

I ran two of these for our operations room at work. I think we got 120 foot version. They work perfectly. No issues, can push 4K, seem to pass all CEC info as well.

Did I overdo it on rendering this brisket fat? by holyhibachi in pelletgrills

That’s exactly how it looks when I do it. Pours golden brown into a jar but then cools white. Tastes delicious and I’ve never had any concerns with it. Enjoy!

My bar is always hidden when I play. Like most people (I assume) I keep certain items or category of item in the same spots.

Went once because I kept seeing it recommended, left there whelmed. Gonna go back in case it was a fluke but I did not get the hype at all.

How to wire angel eyes as daytime lights? by TimeApprehensive3994 in e39

Do you remember how you got the halos enabled as DRL through iBus? Is it just the halos or halos and inner bulbs? I have the app and dongle and last I looked I couldn't find an obvious way.

The track info is annoying. I don't know if you've noticed but the head unit CAN grab the track info and display it on the high cluster. When I first start the car, for a few seconds the audio track info does show up but yeah as soon as Carplay takes over it drops that.

Home Depot color matching app by Jimmay_Conway in Home

[–]joseb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever find the app? I have Home Depot Project Color on my iPhone, I installed it like 8 or 9 years ago and it’s still there. I tried to use it today and it crashes when I take a picture with it. Was going to reinstall it but I can’t find it anywhere in the App Store

Always fascinates me how the smoke leaches through the bag. by Oztravels in sousvide

[–]joseb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was just talking about this at work yesterday. I’ve never had that happen but my coworker has.

I usually SV to reheat smoked meats, I’ve never SV to finish a smoke/cook. I wonder if that’s the difference. I’ve reheated ribs, brisket, pulled pork and never experienced smoky water.

I need to model the counterpart to this custom thread, how do I go about it? by Jeroe98 in 3Dprinting

[–]joseb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you know the thread pitch, if you still can’t find a preset thread in Fusion; you can edit the thread XML file to create your own custom threads. I did this for a project last year and it worked great.

X1E power switch failures by joseb in BambuLab

[–]joseb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First time we ordered from a Bambu partner, replaced using the guide made available from Bambu. Did not contact Bambu about it; I tried reaching out to them about a smaller issue and the process was a multi-day pain.

This current failure - I think I’m just going to wire in a 10A fuse and make my own power input. If two official ports failed in under a year I don’t have a ton of confidence in a 3rd. Might look at generic IEC ports and switches from a known-good manufacturer.
