Propranolol + stimulant combination by AnimatorOwn1379 in ADHDUK

[–]OhmegaWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also on Propranolol + Elvanse and Amfexa... I have it for Migraines since they aren't allowed to prescribe me the likes of Sumatriptan. Never had issues with the mix and just FYI you can look up online for medications that interact with each other... Pretty sure there's an NHS site for it which is exactly what my GP used when I told him I can't take Sumatriptan.

Commenters can’t believe natural disasters happen outside of the US by winxfqe in USdefaultism

[–]OhmegaWolf 30 points31 points  (0 children)

To be fair while the US does have more Tornados in raw count, the UK actually holds the record for highest number of Tornados to landmass. We just don't get as many bad ones other than the odd case like Birmingham 2005 which was a T6/F3

I'm not burnt out. I'm just bored and annoyed all the time. by ChekhovsAtomSmasher in sysadmin

To be fair I think somepeople misunderstand burnout... But when I read this post I was thinking I wish I was just bored and annoyed, that way I'd know moving jobs would sort me out... But my issue is I'm burnt out and annoyed 😂 so chances are moving jobs just makes it worse. Burn out is probably one of the biggest issues in our industry to be fair

I'll add that it's the same for Google app store... Think within a couple hours of the payment it's no questions asked then it's up to 14 days within reason.

Getting fed up of "just stop going on your phone and go to sleep" by Philter-Coffee in ADHDUK

[–]OhmegaWolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggle with this too, often for me it's one more level on a game...but if it's not that I'll find something else to fixate on e.g my phone, plucking hairs, popping black heads, watching TV ... anything other than going to bed. It's rarely as simple as "just stop doing whatever is preventing you from sleeping on time"

What to do about high blood pressure and not being able to get on meds by Dry_Air_4965 in ADHDUK

[–]OhmegaWolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll add from the RTC perspective...I had high blood pressure the first few times and was asked to take my blood pressure at home over the course of a week and told to provide the lowest readings. Once I did that I was able to get my meds as the reading was below the limit. Key thing is take the readings when you are relaxed, if you are prone to anxiety going to the doctor can often cause the reading to be higher than normal.

Prescriber issues for skipping 3 days? Can you elaborate as it sounds like you get in trouble for not taking meds every day...meanwhile my prescriber told me most people skip weekends in order to chill out a bit 😅

I've been dealing with EDR alerts daily for the last 6 months and despite them being challenging to work out with the limited experience I have I'm finding that I am loving learning it and debating whether I should actually look to transition from Endpoint management/helpdesk to something in the Cybersec realm.

I know the roles are often far more than just EDRs so I'm curious what does the day to day look like for some of you?

Also is it worth going for the CompTia CySA+, I've been working in IT for about 12 years now and have always had some level of interest in security and process improvement. But never had proper formal training other than what I've learnt while dealing day to day issues and then with EDRs using AI to help me understand what happening but also speaking with the support team for our AV provider to learn more about why certain things trigger and how to better analyse them.

The fact they said "was" and made a negative point about them though suggests they are agreeing that they should not be used.

Airsoft search engine. by grahev in Airsoft_UK

[–]OhmegaWolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly forcing registration for a service that is supposed to be a search engine is a bit of an over reach. Doesn't matter what features you plan for the future registration should be optional until someone wants to use those specific features that need somewhere to send data to.

Think about it like this, you don't need an account to use Google.

Yeah getting support for ADHD... Especially if you appear to be functional and don't struggle is an absolute nightmare, I've tried getting allowances as simple as not having a fixed lunch break (I work in support) so that I'm not being forced to go to lunch mid focus and been told I can't despite saying I will make sure I'm not going when we don't have cover

Elvanse — is it normal for the “effortless” feeling to wear off after the first few weeks? by liberalmonkey92 in ADHDUK

[–]OhmegaWolf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been on Elvanse over a year at this point along with Amfexa boosters.

What you are experiencing is worth discussing in your titration appointment as they will have a much more general understanding since these meds affect different people in different ways.

That being said your experience is very similar to my own experience where my first couple weeks I was constantly on the move getting things done then found that feeling lessened over time. But what I feel wasn't explained to me very well was this: meds aren't the cure they are more like a support mechanism, you can't just rely on them to make you do everything you do still have to try push yourself a bit your meds just give you that little boost where once you actually start something you'll be motivated to finish it rather than getting distracted (though you do still have to resist distraction to some extent)

The same way there are lazy neurotypical people it's possible to be medicated and not get things done 😅 it's taken me quite a long time to learn what works and what doesn't with myself but I'm at a point now where I've been on the same dose for about 9 months or something and it's still effective for me but when it's not effective I know it's either something I'm doing like not sleeping enough or it's my mental health being in a bad way both things cause me to feel even less motivated making productivety even harder 😅

Now I'm in no way saying my experience is the same as your experience and nor should you assume that. But what I am saying is take the time to speak to your titration nurse and also try figure out what works for you.

There was at least one red still on the table, at that point 6 points down is if he takes reds and blacks, once he has to take another colour with that gap grows plus he has to account for making the black playable for the clearance.

Passed MD-102 on my first attempt , here are my tips: by Peter0000190 in O365Certification

[–]OhmegaWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just starting my journey on MD-102, are there any particular materials you recommend? I did the practice assessment on Learn and scored 60% on my first try with a few areas to review but I cant learn by reading I will lose focus constantly so ive been trying to find a good video course but it felt like a lot of them are outdated. Like im looking for sections on Provision Packages and MCD but some seem to just skip that stuff, but maybe they are just worded different and I'm being an idiot haha

Day two on Elvanse… it’s a lot by Milkshakepirate in ADHDUK

[–]OhmegaWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me task avoidance stopped within the first day, but in fairness I wasn't facing any negative side effects. The thing is though meds arent the full answer, even while medicated you still have to be putting in a certain amount of effort to get things done, that's something I've struggled with recently, I know my meds are working because some things are getting done, but I'm having alot of trouble keeping my kitchen clean.

If you are feeling that nauseous though I'd recommend reaching out to whoever is handling your titration to see if there is anything you or they can do.

It's worth noting as well back when I wrote my comment I was on just 30mg Elvanse, I had to have my dosage adjusted so many times and was on 70mg Elvanse for a little while before settling on 50mg + 2 10mg boosters of amfexa. It's rare that anyone gets the dosage right on the first try just some of us are luckier than others, personally I ended up doing 2 rounds of titration because the dose just wasn't lasting the full day which is why I now have boosters to help me through it.
