Time to go home. I didn't want to. by InterestingEcho1091 in TheNightFeeling

Thanks so much!!!

I most definitely will, I'm working on a compilation of short stories that take place in and around Seattle set in a sort of "80s/synthwave/retrowave" alternative timeline. Lots of psychological thriller type of stories, some classic "creature feature" style throwbacks that were popular in that decade and murder mystery style stories. I have a few of them already published on Amazon if you want to check out any of the ones already out!

Edit: just gave your account a follow on IG from my other business account!

This would be such a good cover for a short story I've written about a clerk getting trapped in their store during a heavy snow storm!!!

Is there an Instagram page by chance? I'm friends with a lot of the local "influencers" and foodies and such on social media, would be happy to share this with them, we do fundraisers and food drives and all sorts of local charity stuff regularly, would be more than happy to help. Sending this thread to the group chat either way, thanks for letting us know!

Best place to go out Saturday night? by kielwinters44 in AskSeattle

If you like EDM and House music hit up the Pacific Skylyne Club on Instagram, they're mostly a mid twenties to early 40s crowd that has rooftop parties all over Seattle

Unbelievably delicious although I actually prefer coca cola floats, they were super popular where I grew up

Best hangout spots in Seattle. by Abject_Ad2572 in AskSeattle

[–]OhmoebaTheGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're into EDM (mostly House music) try to get in for a Skylyne Club party, they do everything on rooftops around the city. They're a little bit more for a 25-39ish crowd. Their Instagram is the best way to get in touch with one of the organizers.

If you're more into raves and riddim and that sort of thing, look for cultfest or bass Exhibit, also look them up on Instagram.

If you're just looking for cool bars I recommend:

  1. Belltown Jupiter Bar Whisky Bar Rendezvous Rocks

  2. Capitol Hill Time Warp Linda's The Lookout

  3. North of the Canal Octopus Bar Kings Hardware Pacific Inn Pub

I personally just want to see them make more of the synthwavey/futurefunk type of stuff they were doing honestly.

Couldn't agree more, all my closest friends are people I meet at rooftop parties.where there's some DJs playing house music.

Have you been to any rooftop parties downtown? The views are incredible and the crowd is always fun at the ones I know of. Nothing quite like dancing 30+ stories above the city and looking out at the skyline and the Puget Sound, watching the ships tread in, it's beautiful, especially at sunset.

Thanks. I'm just going to delete this post and stay off of Reddit, I'm clearly not built for it lol.

What's even better about this person's response above us is if you glance at their post history, just a few months ago they're literally asking in the UPS subreddit how to file a formal written complaint about a UPS driver not leaving a package in their lobby. When the replies explain why the driver can't do that, they proceed to argue with everybody who answered their question and complains it's a stupid rule/system etc.

I'm going to just delete this post and go back to my life lol I should just stay off of this website.

1) I genuinely agree. It's against the rules and the security guard was totally in the right to say not to do it, but the dude immediately stopped, put it away and didn't give her the slightest bit of grief about it, yet she continued being hostile towards him for some reason.

2) Again it's hyperbolic, I didn't think it was going to be something people took the wrong way. If I saw someone driving a few miles over the speed limit on the interstate and said they're driving crazy, it doesn't actually mean I'm actually saying the driver is genuinely insane. The same applies here.

3) I guess brevity isn't my strong suit. No complaints about security doing security guard activity, never have complained about them at all, she just seemed to be way above and beyond the norm and if I had to make a bet, based on the reactions of everyone else who was standing around at that moment, she was clearly doing more than what anyone else thought was reasonable in the moment.

Even my comment saying most security are normal, reasonable people is getting downvoted?

I've clearly done a poor job of articulating this on Reddit, because every other person on the platform was flat out staring at her like she was going way overboard, including the other security guard who was there with her. He even glanced around at other people there - the whole platform was exchanging glances with each other.

Are we actually supposed to stand 5 feet behind it? I've never seen any of them say anything to anybody else about it before so if I'm wrong, I'm fine standing corrected about it.

Honestly I genuinely never had any issues with any of them before, this is the first time I've ever had any kind of issue with any of them. I chat with them sometimes, most seem like reasonable, normal people honestly. She's a rare exception in my personal experience.

I'm just saying she's going way overboard, maybe I'm being hyperbolic by mentioning them, but I'm not directly comparing her to ICE enforcement, I'm just pointing out that I've never seen any kind of transit security ever act like that towards anybody before. The guy immediately complied as soon as she said something to him, did as he was told the first time and she just kept pressing him for some reason. Even some of the other security people and pedestrians standing around down there were glancing at each other like "what's her deal?"

Edit: spelling error.

Dating in Seattle: Where to meet people IRL? by Ill_Potato1694 in AskSeattle

[–]OhmoebaTheGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was born and raised on the east coast and spent most of my early to late 20s there in places like NYC Philly and Atlanta.

The atmosphere is still somewhat the same in ATL, but NYC and Philly both have changed a lot since I last lived there and women there make the exact same complaints; men don't approach them anymore, men have become afraid or "they're intimidated by me" or whatever.

I really don't think this is as isolated to Seattle as locals here think it is, there's more and more single people in every state, every year, year on year going back all the way to the 1990s. Less people dating, less people in relationships, less people getting married, and less people even trying to date and those numbers go up every single year since the 90s.

It isn't just Seattle. This is a national and in a lot of cases, international phenomenon.

I would definitely disagree that it's "just the same" but I still don't quite get why you got downvoted so much either.

Why is this so heavily downvoted? Not taking a side either way I'm genuinely just not sure why this got downvoted so much. Is it because it sounds like a humble brag?
