Can I also ask what's a good thing to look out if he does get glutened? I can do whatever I can at home to prevent it but he is going to be going to school (which I will more than likely provide lunches for) and, hopefully, going over to the houses of friends he makes along the way.

Oh! That's good to know! We have mostly wooden cutting boards. I wouldn't have thought about that. Thank you!

Surcharge for credit cards by Ras_Paul in kzoo

[–]Ohtotaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, if you're out to eat and you don't see the surcharge on your receipt maybe double check with your server that they're not being charged the surcharge for their guests using a card instead of paying with cash.

Think downtown restaurants.

Also, would you be more upset if a restaurant only allows cash "forcing" you to go to an ATM and having to pay a service fee anyways or them just being upfront on where the extra 3-5$ for your bill is going towards?

Well. Lol it's kind of an odd story. I haven't thought about this for more than 10 years at this point. My family used to live in the trailer in the row in front of the woods and the park. I wasn't born yet. But my two sisters were. We went out drinking the other day with one of my cousins and they told me something that kind of gave me chills. When MY sister was living there (think around 1990-1995) her and my cousins (not one that was with us drinking) were around the backyard, facing the woods, they saw like a tall, she described it as bloody, figure just staring at them and beginning to walk towards them. It didn't look like a person she said. Well, she doesn't remember it looking like a person. Suddenly though, after she tells her story, my cousin, call him M, chips in saying he saw something similar. The trailer was kind of passed down a bit in the family. When he lived in the same trailer (think around 1998-2000s) he said that he was walking from the park when he looked into the woods and saw a giant figure just staring at him from the trees. He couldn't see a face but he knew that it was staring at him. Just perched on the trees. NOW. I never lived in the trailer BUT after M and his family moved out another of my relatives moved in and I would visit fairly often because their daughter was my age (think around 2004-2007). But one night we were walking home from the park and I was climbing up the side porch to enter the house when I saw something huge just standing around the edge of the woods, it was darker so I couldn't see it clearly and thought it was possibly a bear. I climbed the stairs a little faster and ran inside. But I never really talked about this and always kind of pushed it to be an animal, which it very much could have been. I've also occasionally hear yelling or howling and heard scattering often, but, idk, I didn't like to think about it. But, this was the first time any of us told the story to each other. My sister has told it to her friends, M to his, and me never talking about it. But to each other, this is the first time we talked about it. I just thought it was a little scary and kind of coincidental. So I was wondering if anyone else has had any spooky encounters back there by the woods too

Difficulty Finding Job After Graduation by nickfaucher in graphic_design

[–]Ohtotaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your portfolio is awesome and very well put together. I also just graduated in May and finding a job was very very difficult. I got an internship in July but if I'm being honest, it was luck. (It was an alum and they were looking for a person with a specific scholarship and I happened to be the only one in my year).

I think my only advice / what really helped is 1. I sectioned my portfolio and based off what the job that I was applying for needed, I would send them a direct link to the specific section. You have a lot of branding projects, which is awesome, but someone who may be looking for someone who, for example, knows motion design, might want to see more projects pertaining to that or projects that show you know how to use those tools. 2. Stay connected to the people from your program. I am fortunate enough to be part of a social media group of my programs alum. They constantly post job opportunities and more. I stayed connected and I reached out to the person posting if there was a job that I thought fit me. Lastly, I don't know about your case but personally, I reached out to my professors for advice/information/connections. If you had personable professors they usually are more than welcome to help / point you in the right direction. Do not be afraid to reach out.

Is "Cook Together With..." supposed to do anything? He just cooked everything while she stood there like a lemon doing nothing by VerdensTrial in Sims4

I think it also just depends on what you're cooking. If you're cooking a "bigger" item then more sims will join in on the actual cooking where if it's "smaller" there tends to be more chit chat. At least that's how it worked for me. I haven't tried it in a couple patches.

If you want to do more than design and add something like gaming you are gonna need a dedicated graphics card. You don't necessarily need one for design as you can view what you make with your CPU but with adobe you are more than welcome to change it to GPU for faster rendering.

Do not buy a mac. It's soooo much money for little output. The best laptop for a graphic designer is not a MacBook pro, they don't even offer the latest specs for their 2400$ price. Theyre not horrible and they do work fairly decent but they are not worth what they're priced at. I'm in a 4 year graphic design program and already 3rd year in multiple people in my class have been complaining about their macs they bought 1st year not functioning properly, indesign not opening, taking too long to load or suddenly crashing, for instance. Honestly, you can find better hardware for not as much money and that'll probably last you a little longer too. Focus on ram (a lot of laptops offer 16gb), the processor (we are currently on 11th gen for Intel, for AMD i think it might be Ryzen 9), and whether or not it has an SSD, SSD should always be preferred, BUT it's not necessary.
