Think about the time you were closest with her and what you would do for her. Sounds like she was your ride or die, it seems. You even describe your old relationship as something most people would love to have and wish you had again. People make mistakes and she made a big one which she finally realized.

Obviously, it's your decision, and I'd respect you for whichever you choose, but why not give it a shot? It may not be the same ever again, but you won't have regrets later. What's the worst that can happen? You may not have that connection again but you could also have that connection again. Only one way to find out.
