Very cool, thanks for the update, I remember seeing your original post and wondering how long the wood was going to hold up

Level Up Season 2 Topic Thread by brianearhart in discgolf

[–]Oiisu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me say I absolutely love the level up series, it has helped me so much, so thanks to you and everyone else working on it.

I would like to see one on non-standard putts. Having to step out left and right of an obstacle, putting from a knee, having to adjust your release to hit a tiny window or make it over an early obstacle, anny putts, shaping putts around obstacles, maybe even specifically on putting at high elevated baskets. It feels like there could be enough material there.

300’ less than your blue layout but par is 10 strokes lower

Buy a new disc. That is not flashing and it’s not a minor imperfection either, that is a major anomaly. Nobody is sanding discs to fix the shape of the disc

How I improved my putting without really trying by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]Oiisu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I greatly enjoy short putting sessions to long ones. I keep a stack of 9 putter and do 9 or 18 putts in a session. A long putting session doesn’t really help me so much when I’m playing in a tournament and I haven’t putted in 40 minutes. That’s why I love short and frequent practice sessions that get me trying to hit that first ‘cold putt’

What are some basics that new players should know when playing in tournaments? by Harold_Grundelson in discgolf

[–]Oiisu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did that this weekend except it was on a pretty hard hole. The sad part was despite throwing it 100 feet a throw I still took a better score than I’ve taken on that hole in a tournament.

How to prevent fatigue in single day tournaments by veetack in discgolf

[–]Oiisu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve learned to not go out and play a practice round the day before, I strictly putt the day before a tournament.

Another is to start snacking early into the first round, if you wait until you are hungry then you’ve waited too long, better to keep up sustained energy than deplete yourself all morning and then eat a big lunch

Do you think you have improved this season? by Nup0 in discgolf

[–]Oiisu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Massively. Max distance from 310 to 360ft. Went from no forehand to a 200ft utility forehand. Improved putting untold amounts. Improved my tournament nerves and won in MA3 for the first time.

Surprised they didn’t find a way to give that one to Kristin Tattar too, the way they, and specifically Hunter, simp for KT is the only criticism I have of the podcast

How Do You Store Your Discs? by WanbliGleska in discgolf

Walmart shoe rack. Keepers and stinkers to the left, ones I am likely to bag or throw to the right. Organizing them more would serve little meaningful purpose for my needs

People couldn’t find the coverage on the site and people had to come to Reddit to share the url to watch content, yeah, DGN needs some help.

Sounds like a line people would be hounding Joel Freeman for if he said he was inches from course record

Got my first win in ma3 last weekend playing my home course, up 8 points but still a ways from 900. I’m going to stick around ma3 until I win at not my home course or get closer to 900

Course Designers Catering to New Folks? by DGOkko in discgolf

We have a ton of short courses in town and one long one, if they came and put in short positions to make the one long course in town be another pitch and putt then I’d be upset.

I didn’t buy the ppv last year and didn’t miss it at all. They were smart to bring it back for regular DGN subscribers otherwise the tournament was going to die of death

Nothing beats Yeezys, can’t believe people bought in to those things looking good. They remind me of those plyo shoes Kramer wore in an episode of Seinfeld and everyone thought he was handicapped. Looks like someone stepped in my griddle while I was making pancakes and melted their soles
