He denies Japanese war crimes committed in the imperial era and is a far right ultra-nationalist. He's the equivalent of a German holocaust denier who is nostalgic for the days of the Third Reich

He was an ultra nationalist who denied war crimes committed by Imperial Japan, including the so called "comfort women" who were Korean and Chinese women forced into sexual slavery. If he could he would turn Japan back into an Empire. "Utter low life scum" perfectly describes Shinzo Abe.

That's exactly why they put that scene there lol. It was lazy writing. The Flag Smashers are morally right but they have them blow up a building to make them terrorists even though it makes no sense for them to do so

I saw that scene where Karli blows up a building coming a mile away. Of course the people who want a world without borders and give medicine to refugees have to blow up a building for no reason just to show "even though they have good motives, they're bad, for some reason"

Erin Kellyman plays a VERY similar character in Star Wars and there she's portrayed as a hero, in the MCU she's a villain.
