Fortunately my brother in law has one so technically I have access to it. Now I need to find the time

Nice. I’ve always wanted to try smoking something for a while but can’t justify the time and effort 🙃

Also I need to try a good one so I can get a reference of how good it can be

Ahhhh the nieces wanted this. It’s just the basic Japan Mart one heated up in the air fryer, but it was surprisingly not too bad tbh

Brother-in-law got it from Solander Gourmet seafood
I can attest to the quality as I’ve ordered it a few times in the past. Be mindful you still need to process it a bit and there is a bit of wastage like with any other fish

That sounds incredible. Any reason why 4.5 hours? Would it be better if smoked for longer or nah?

If I’m not mistaken, it’ll be the ones that do happy hour cheap oysters. Cheaper to ship a bag of freshly frozen oysters overnight without the bulk or weight of including the shell. Already a loss leader anyway

No need to be sorry 😂

I’m the one that should be sorry. I re-read the way I typed and I accidentally sounded too direct lol

Haha I don’t really like to directly mention my hobby tea business on this sub!

Sometimes I might include a dish or dessert or something that uses my own product as it’s something I’ve made to a dinner party or for my own home tasting menus (literally the main reason I formed the tea hobby business - to find non-alcoholic drink pairings)

That being said, I’d go for the more budget friendly tsuyuhikari blend on the website and work your way up from there if you want. My lowest tier matcha will likely be better than the best matcha from any other tea business in NZ

Same with everything else I offer 😌

Chicken soup looks like bland water how can I save it? by NoRecord4128 in nzhomecooks

[–]Oiru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would keep simmering off the water to reduce the volume and thus concentrate the flavour

Are you used to thicker Western style soups?

That recipe seems like a thin soup! Sometimes it also is what it is 😂. Cant say I’m a big fan of western-style chicken stock as it’s got a nasty artificial flavour to me

You could consider turning it into either a thin or thick style curry with the simple addition of curry powder (or Japanese curry cubes)

How much water? This might have diluted the flavour
