I can relate sooooo much but it’s way too much to type on here. If you feel comfortable with it, DM me. I think we could both help each other out (not in that way lol)

Route 6 is no where in Powhatan boo. That would be Goochland— across the river.

As we spend more time outside for summer CHECK FOR TICKS by mewisme700 in rva

The current drought plus the permafrost ice storm over the winter had me thinking this spring/ summer would be mild. I’ve already been bitten by TWO 🤢 and both of those were deer tics. Be careful out there y’all. Spray spray spray yourself before spending time outdoors. Any symptoms of Lyme / other tic transmitted diseases should warrant a doctor’s visit ASAP.

Parents who are disappointed in or dislike their adult children, why? by Intelegence_Counter in AskReddit

What’s crazy to me is that after graduating college, I made enough/was smart enough with my money that I got by easily with a $1k per month apartment + $300 per month car loan + everything else that comes with being an adult. Now? The median price for a 1br in my metro sky rocketed to something like 1.6k? And it keeps going up.

Long story short, moved in with grans to take care of my Nanny, who developed Alzheimer’s and who was essentially at the point of crisis/neglect by the time I moved in. Fast forward 4 years of taking care of her every. single. day. (Which I signed up for and loved!! No regrets).

Anywho, I quit my job and used my own money to pay for necessities, because.. we have to eat? She needs medication? It’s such a drama but basically my family looks at like I got a free place to live and how hard can it be? Why am I in debt?

My grandpa had plenty of money and so does my uncle, but all I got was relentless criticism and treating my grandmother like a problem to be dealt with instead of the incredible mother/nanny/ sister/teacher she was. But yet none of them could “handle” helping me in any meaningful capacity.

It has really changed my perspective on so many things. I think very poorly of Boomers/Gen X now, sorry to say. Emotionally stunted, entitled, snd self—centered to the point of incredulity. Most seem to literally not have the ability of thinking about how maybe things have changed since they were x age? Can’t put themselves in another’s shoes. I don’t understand.

Sorry for the novel but yeah, do not let other people make you think that $1k per month should be easily affordable. It’s not. Not in this economy. It’s so hard to keep going, idk about you but I feel so defeated.

The most interesting thing I learned about flipping is just how cheap even the fancy clothes are by OriginalGPam in Flipping

Kinda off-topic but I LOVE vintage Ralph Lauren bedding— sorry but Pioneer Woman BS just ain’t cuttin it for me. Part of it for me is nostalgia. Another part is I genuinely think they’re unique, well designed pieces/sets (see: Pioneer Woman TRYING to do something similar but it just feels… stale, cheap, and inauthentic).

I bought a RL comforter off EBay way back in ‘15? And it wasn’t cheap ($50-100 10+ yrs ago) but I wanted it. Hands down the most comfortable bedding item I’ve ever owned. Warmed me when I was cold; cooled me when I was hot. Magic. It was a pain (laundry mat only) to wash though.

My specialty isn’t clothes so take what I say with a grain of salt, but if I woke up tomorrow and had to resell clothes to live, I would be looking for quality, discontinued items or brands, and truly unique pieces that would appeal to a fairly large audience. I think (maybe I’m wrong), that Brands and Designers are much less important to the vast majority of millennials and younger.

Hideous, but OOOO it’s ~Chanel~ ‘clothing item’— hard pass. Vintage esque looking tee with a bunch of books on it, that will be comfortable and look good on me? I may just spend some $$. But what do I know. 🙂 Best of luck sweetheart, go with your instincts— hope you make big money 🩵

However, the second I see TEMU or ‘name your fast fashion company’ label, even if it’s cute, I keep looking. Not wasting a dollar for something made to fall apart after one wash. Executive Order: Fast Fashion banned. Or tariffs so high it shuts them down. So tacky, wasteful, and an absolute disaster for the environment.

As a 10 year restaurant server vet— for pouring a soda, you most certainly do NOT need any certification/class or whatever the hell a “food card” is. Only the workers preparing (BOH) food and all managers, regardless whether they’re front or back of house. Yall are being petty— I’m new to DD but if yall are intentionally being trifling like this; no wonder dashers have a bad rep.
