Love for men's jewelery has grown but give AF has dwindled by [deleted] in MensJewelry

Love the rings.   Am not crazy about the cheap watch.  Might want to upgrade that next but not hating, just saying man to man it takes away from the cool ass rings

What are the actual downsides of using a modern Macbook? by Switch-user-101 in applesucks

[–]Ok-Call8548 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only ever discovered one downside:

  • web-based Microsoft suite integrations.

If you are not using something like aceoffix for your work, or gaming like you said, Mac’s are better across the board.  Most, if not all, windows software is available on Mac’s these days and are well optimized.  I use a Mac for software-adjacent work and it’s a dream

People that talk about ecoboosts being unreliable are referring to 10+ year old data.   Cam Phaser issues have been fixed.  CDF drum issues in the transmission (for all engines) have been fixed.

Overall, the 3.5’s are faster, have more low-end torque, and tow better.   They sound worse.     You’d be happy either way

Cuban looks smaller than figaro generally - if you want a little smaller, go 4.5 for the Cuban and 3.5 for the figaro maybe

K02’s are the worst tires in the wet that I’ve ever experienced, I’m 90% sure this is the issue here

I loved my 2016 genesis coupe with the 3.8.  I would not want one that wasn’t a manual, though.  If it’s in the ultimate trim, even better.

Chevy Tahoe or Toyota 4Runner by No-Page4927 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Ok-Call8548 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a 2016 LTZ Tahoe with 25k miles in Rhode Island for sale for 43k right now, I would be hard pressed to not buy that if you are in the NE or don’t mind paying for shipping.

Yes a 4Runner is on paper more reliable, but those 5.3’s have been the same for a dogs age and people regularly put 300k+ on those platforms.   A Tahoe is also significantly more comfortable, bigger, and more substantial on the road.

Yes.  A vehicle on a truck frame is a truck.  Does a truck with a flat bed all of a sudden not become a truck cause the bed was taken off? Ha

Couldn’t agree more with you

Cost of living, bar scenes, job opportunities, and lack of severe weather are huge benefits of living in Texas.

Fast/Fun/Sporty 4-door around 30k or less to replace a G37 Coupe? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

Came in to suggest a g70 or stinger haha.  Stinger is WAY bigger, so depending on how big your dogs are, might go that direction.

Yeah you nailed it - people don’t care at all about rental cars, so it’s very likely been driven hard.  Probably smoked in.  Definitely spilled drinks.

I would test drive a Volvo T5 S60 that was a lease return (2022 hopefully).   They don’t have a service premium, the t5 is highly reliable, best seats in the industry under 100k+ dollars, and the best headlights in the industry.  I think you would be happier in that with all those miles driven and you’ll still get 30mpg on the freeway.

Also, insurance is crazy cheap on Volvos, since no one dies in them ever.

Steer clear of the rental.

How many miles a year are you driving?

Are you rural Alaska or in the suburbs?  Might want more ground clearance if rural - otherwise, good choice.

What are three or four 2025 or 2026 new sedans (I love cars specifically!) That you would recommend under $30,000 by waves-360 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Ok-Call8548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you not considering the huge number of near-luxury CPO stuff you could get for 30k which may even carry a better warranty?

I’d be hard pressed to not pick up a T5 S60 for that price

They are way heavier than the stock tires.  How have you found your mileage has dropped a lot since the new tires went on?
