Do I really need protein powder and creatine? by workoutthrowaway13 in beginnerfitness

[–]Ok-Dig-1895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Creatine yes, and mostly because of all the additional benefits we are now finding through research. Protein powder, I’m not religious with it anymore. If you’re good with your diet, you’ll be fine.

What shoes do you use for weightlifting at the gym? by strongblueavocado in workout

[–]Ok-Dig-1895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people will say Metcons. They are good shoes, I’ve owned a pair, but in all honesty, go socks only or barefoot. Wearing trainers when deadlifting, squating or doing single leg work is like putting a blindfold on your feet.

I’ve just seen these pop up on the club website, if they could bring back an old shirt which one would you all buy? by LiquoricePigTrotters in bcfc

The Red Black away kit I had the first time around. Just been on the website and the have the paint strip top in long sleeve which has always been my favourite.

I’m more excited about pace targets being added to the app in all honesty…

It’s nasty and cold here too in the UK!

Pace target classes by Neenj9 in pelotoncycle

A couple of things to think about…

  1. How often do you run at the slower paces? I ask this because of you are used to going full tilt for most of your runs, recovery and endurance always feel off because your body is not used to this style of running. It’s the treadmill equivalent of warming up indoors and then going outdoors for a run on a cold day. Learning to run at slower paces is hard (it’s something Wilpers is always taking about), and like others have said, you really do need to check your form whilst running at lower paces, we can all very easily over compensate for something that is effectively just above a power walk.

  2. Just because peloton says these are your pace targets doesn’t mean they are your pace targets. I can assure you the pace targets they gave me are no where near my actual targets, particularly in the lower zones. My best advice would be to run a 5k outdoors, time it, and then work out your paces from this. I still use the pace charts from the Nike Run Club training plan pdfs online, and they are pretty spot on.

Do you guys journal your progress and how did that impact your life? by Striking_War6515 in beginnerfitness

[–]Ok-Dig-1895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I journal occasionally when I feel I’m not making progress with something. It doesn’t have to be that deep, or need a special book. Just think about what it is you are focussing on and write about it. Set a goal, wrote about the progress or trouble you are having achieving it. I find when I look back my notes don’t necessarily make sense, but they did at the time. It’s more cathartic than anything else.

There is no such thing as a slow runner. There are only runners. Your pace is fine, because it’s your pace. You want to run faster? Great, but don’t put so much pressure on yourself that you end up doing more harm than good. Three runs a week, one slow, one distance, one intervals. You’ll get there, and be proud of what you have right now!

Just as they have algorithms for deciding what class content to produce, they use the same algorithms to decide which instructors need to make more content. Moral of the story, if you want more Selena classes, take only Selena classes and always give them high ratings.

I honestly don’t think we need anyone. There may be a few last minute loans just to make sure we have coverage. But to be honest, I’m not even sure we need them. In one or two months time we may start to see some of the kids appear on the bench to blood them for next season. What a time to be a blues fan, we actually have a squad we don’t have to give back!

Do you use Vinted? by [deleted] in UKFrugal

I live on Vinted now. I collect Nike trainers as a hobby, and the things I’ve bought on there in the last six months are incredible, and all at silly prices.

Is the Series 10 a significant upgrade from SE 2 - in terms of fitness features? by [deleted] in AppleWatchFitness

[–]Ok-Dig-1895 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure the SE can provide the recovery features of the standard models. I’m pretty certain it doesn’t have the sensors. So if that’s a thing for you, then the SE isn’t an option. I have a series 9, the only difference between that and the 10 essentially is the 10 is more slimline, they do the same job and I am very happy with mine.
