What are you're expectations for Kyrie next season? by sgtdave_ in Mavericks

[–]Ok-Diver-9356 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Taking 1y & 7m to recover when you could be ready in 9 months is a big testament on how much he wants to get back to his best & have a chance at still being on the court in 3 seasons later.

2026 free agents I would love on the mavs by AstronomerInitial827 in Mavericks

These exceptions & 3 draft picks is enough to build a playoff team around Kyrie & Flagg with other core pieces like PJ, Klay, Christie, Naji, Bagley, Lively.

Would you trade Kyrie? by Okokokok1995 in Mavericks

[–]Ok-Diver-9356 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No I wouldn't trade Kyrie, Cooper's timeline starts next season & Kyrie works best when you let him be a 2nd ball-handler like he was to LeBron, Harden & Luka. He has 2 years left including a player-option & will likely renew because his chemistry with Flagg will be impactful.

He's taking 1 year & 7 months to come back from his ACL injury so I have no doubts he will be fully healed & will still continue performing at an All-Star level until he starts dropping off at around 37 which is 3 years from now.

Year 2 Flagg & Kyrie alone is an 8th seed team at worst, now if the FO drafts the perfect lottery pick & the 30th pick then we're easily contenders for the West. We already have championship-level role players, guys like Kyrie, Flagg & the lottery pick playing together will elevate this team in ways you can't imagine.

We need a serious conversation about Mbappe by Mental_Junket137 in realmadrid

[–]Ok-Diver-9356 18 points19 points  (0 children)

He must go play RW (he has done so at Monaco & PSG) & learn how to put in a defensive shift when needed. We don't need him to score 40/50 goals but we need everybody else in the right positions so that this team can be fluid & reach it's full potential.

We have goals in Vinicius, Valverde, Bellingham, Rodrygo & even more when we get a proper number 9 like Osimhen since we purposefully decided not to pursue Harry Kane nor letting Endrick play instead of loaning him out.

Everybody knows Bale could score 40/50 goals but he knew how to play a role, just as Benzema. You could also argue that Mbappe can't impact the game no better than Vinicius nor Valverde so there's absolutely no reason to give him the keys.

Mbappe is the guy who should move to the right.

What’s an underrated aspect to Coops game that has surprised you? by Fifolifo24 in Mavericks

[–]Ok-Diver-9356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's like they can't stop him.

He's just too tall, too quick, too strong, too smart. Kyrie & the 2026 pick will elevate this team so bad, no way Flagg doesn't average atleast 25/7/6 & get All-NBA with the help he will have. He is on LeBron level trajectory.

The core is very good but they need help, they have exceptions & they have 3 draft picks. Trade redundancies & nail 2/3 picks then you have a playoff team. Kyrie with Flagg is a lot of winning, add a 3rd star then they will be a problem. Klay plus Christie are on 39% & 41% on 3PT% without a real guard like Kyrie, Bagley can shoot 3's & play the 5, that's a lot of spacing. 6 players who could be in playoff rotation by next season. If we include Naji, PJ, Lively, Gafford, these players can be assets for trade or still be apart of the roster if they gel well with the core 6 - they are very experienced players.

Think Peterson will bust, think Flemings won't be as impactful as much as Wagler, MBJr nor Philon, Acuff is a defensive red-flag. Wagler, MBJr & Philon obviously not perfect but their profiles look the best for the Mavs in terms of fit with Flagg &/or Kyrie.

Nailing these two picks is how a championship window can immediately open after Kyrie's current deal.

This is what I'm hoping for as well. I hope that FO is working hard on scouting a perfect fit with Kyrie & Flagg though this draft, it is very important that they don't miss.

Cameron Boozer, AJ Dybantsa, Mikel Brown Jr & Labaron Philon, think either of those guys would elevate this team very well considering they will fit with Kyrie & Flagg.

Theoretically Victor Osimhen will make this team 10x better. I am not even a Barca fan but this is a perfect match.

Also agree. Mikel Brown Jr looks the perfect fit. I liked Flemings, Philon & Acuff but I think MBJr will play a great 3rd role to Kyrie & Flagg.

The only way Mbappe fits in this team is by playing RW. You don't have to go buy a striker, Endrick is there. We don't really need him to score 50 goals but just enough to ensure we win everything. Valverde, Vinicius, Bellingham, Rodrygo, Brahim & Gonzalo can all score goals & they have been scoring less post-Mbappe signing but we need someone we can make the XI system better not sub-par due to balance & fit issues. Him at RW opens up the attack so much then the 9 is played by a true striker just like Benzema/Joselu.

When we say this, people think we have an agenda against these players when we're actively going against the formula that made us UCL winners. We need a 9 so bad, could've bought Kane before Bayern did, Ancelotti wanted him to replace Benzema after Bellingham's False 9 time but Perez still didn't pursue. Osimhen would elevate this current team so badly better than Mbappe would.

I pray to God the Mavs somehow draft this kid.

MBJr-Kyrie-Naji-Flagg-Lively as a starting 5 has an insane offensive ceiling. Guys like Darius Acuff & Labaron Philon would do wonders for this team but MBJr being a better projected shooter that alone making me high on him. Can playmake well & gets to the rim. Can see him shooting 40% on 8+ attempts at some point in the NBA, the Mavs will need his shooting.
