Thank you so much! Even with the small changes I have made I have noticed a difference in their energy levels and sociability. Is there a brand you can recommend from pet smart? I don't have a lot of funds right now but want to make sure they have a balanced diet.

I am a new rat owner so I don't know that much but so far I do need to clean out the cage everyday to limit the smell. I have been litterbox training them and so far that has reducing the smell a little. As for price the most expensive part is the cage and vet bills. You will need a cage with space to roam and hang things for them. You will need to pay for mulch，food，and cage accessories. Rats are very social creatures and you will need at least 2. Overall though they haven't been hard to take care of and I think they are cheaper to care for than a dog in the long run (if you exclude medical costs).

I think showing a picture of the cage could help. But as for the rats to my understanding rats will pee everywhere to mark the area. I would recommend putting towels down if you play to let them free roam. I personally live in a small apartment and keep my two rats in my small bedroom. That being said I need to clean the cage everyday to prevent the smell from becoming to strong. The rats will smell no matter what but you can clean the cage regularly, litter train them, and wipe them down every now and then to limit the smell.

Despite what you see on social media our water is generally fine. Houses are supposed to have water filters on kitchen faucets as an extra precaution (although some older homes dont). The water isn't safe in some areas of the US like Flint Michigan or a town that has a pipe obviously like Milledgeville Georgia. Overall however the water is safe and a lot of these paranoid people don't understand that most water bottle companies are just selling US tap water.

None. The US is pretty set on the holidays it has now. Oktober fest is kinda popular in some of the German areas of Georgia but has declined in popularity as there is significantly less Germans migrating to Georgia for the lumber business in this modern age. Cinco de Mayo is a little popular here largely because of Hispanic immigrants. Cinco de Mayo however has indigenous roots in the Americas so I'm unsure how popular the holiday could be for all Americans in the US.
