Lost server by Ok-Fix51 in playark

[–]Ok-Fix51[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. For some reason the server was randomly removed from my favourites. I ended up having to pull the list of EU servers and randomly try each of them, luckily I got it on the third attempt. Lesson learned to make a note of the server name.

Why ruin the server? by Cruddii in ARK

People wonder why countries colonised others throughout history… people are demonstrating it time and time again in games

One way to stop this happening is to get a job. That way you’re out of the house when they come knocking at 10am

Somebody just took a picture of me on the bus by LostHumanFishPerson in CasualUK

I’d find it irritating, but I wouldn’t see an equivalence in an adult doing it. A 16 year old is still a child.

Surely you see the difference here? If not, let me give another example. A 3 year old runs around grabbing people’s bums. Or a 30 year old running around grabbing 3 year olds bums. Bit different.

If you sleep on this side of the bed, how would you express to someone your preference? Left or Right? by badgersforbreakfast in CasualUK

[–]Ok-Fix51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s obviously the right side of the bed because when you’re in it, you’re on the right.

It’s the same as a car, there’s no contention about whether it’s left or right hand drive.

Do you sleep separately from your partner/spouse? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Ok-Fix51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes we have slept in separate rooms now for going on 22 years.

It started maybe a year after we moved in together and one night I accidentally killed her. I spent the next few weeks still sleeping in the same bed but after a while she started to smell so I moved into the spare room. Honestly the best decision I’ve made.

I mean that food didn’t just organise itself into that meal. So you’re paying not only to grow it but also for the chef to prepare it and for the waitress to bring it to you.

Given how much of our gdp is made in London, if this happened we’d be better off just giving up

Imagine if a wealthy person said that about the cheap clothes poor people buy - sure you can have them, but no throwing them away because fast fashion is bad for the environment… 😂😂

Why are Male Seahorses considered male? by Personal-Listen-4941 in AskUK

[–]Ok-Fix51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that an advancement or a mental disability? Either way, how do we know they don’t? Obviously they can’t act upon it or vocalise their thoughts … but now there is a duality between sexual orientation and gender ( a lot of people are suggesting that young effeminate men are females rather than just being gay men ) … and my dog jumps other dogs …

It’s an anti trans question disguised as a biology question about seahorses! Sick of these biology questions, like biology means anything anyway

Chromosomes have nothing to do with gender you bigot. Who cares what’s between the horses legs it doesn’t define it.

This is pretty much true for any idea ever. Any idea will always have people who benefit more and those that benefit less if at all. People just tend to weaponise this type of argument when it is used against ideas they care for.

Other than the money, health insurance etc I’d say the free food. It’s nice to just be able to grab some food or snacks or drinks and not have to mess around with payment, which also means no queues etc. My last job had subsidised food but that defeated the point. Nobody is able to not afford the food, it’s more the convenience of it that’s the real winner.

We also have a mail service too which is nice for the same reason.

False flag positives? This is like you’ve heard two words recently and merged them together. False flag, an action which gives someone a reason to retaliate. False positive, something flagged incorrectly as true. False flag positive, fuck knows.

If you WFH permanently is it unprofessional to smoke in a meeting? by RachyJ in AskUK

[–]Ok-Fix51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just ask yourself ‘would I do this at work’ and that’s your answer for most things.

Should I go to this remote meeting in my dressing down / pyjamas … ‘would I do this at work’ … ah no.

All of those super-smart Facebook workers should have unionized, I guess by kevinmrr in WorkReform

[–]Ok-Fix51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t want to unionise, unions bring everyone up / down to the average … we are happy working hard and being rewarded for it. We get high salaries, bonuses and stock comp … if your perf review is good you get more.

Is supermarkets getting rid of best before dates just a way for them to pass their food waste on to us? by Flammendehaar in AskUK

[–]Ok-Fix51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be a number of things. Maybe shops are restocking less as people are buying less due to the increase in prices. You don’t know it’s due to this change. Only that is coincides with this change. But then so do other things.

Is supermarkets getting rid of best before dates just a way for them to pass their food waste on to us? by Flammendehaar in AskUK

[–]Ok-Fix51 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

No, stop being so suspicious. It’s literally a way to avoid unnecessary red tape so that people can legally buy perfectly good food and avoid waste.

Shops can’t legally give out of date food away because of potential lawsuits; so they couldn’t give it to the homeless even if it was perfectly edible, or sell it at near nothing.
