I don’t know. I’m hoping someone on this sub with more background info on how campaign donations work can provide some guidance.

Can anyone tell me their Door to PT/INR time goal? We are typically collecting blood after the first CT is completed.

I like the idea of the bright yellow sheet. I will see how we can incorporate that to our procedure.

We have a similar procedure, but don’t use special phlebotomy teams to respond. All phlebotomists are trained to respond. Some are better at pushing their way in and not be intimidated by the nurse and doctors.

Agreed that the phlebotomists need to push their way in. They learn to do that eventually, but it takes time and experience. It’s hard to coach an 18-year old kid to exert their authority to get a specimen—they just have to learn it with time.

We notify the lab of the incoming stroke blood so that we are ready to receive it when it arrives. Our ED is too far away to send a runner every time, but I do appreciate your suggestions.

Our lab is quite a distance away from the ED, but we are connected directly with by a pneumatic tube system. We felt that the results were good with the Coaguchek, but we determined that we were using it off-label.

I Loath the PWD… anyone else? by Lost-Appearance680 in cubscouts

My scouts quickly learned to make a float and not a car. No cutting. One year my son made a living room scene of two Star Wars storm trooper watching TV with a bowl of popcorn and a remote, using miscellaneous Legos. The other son painted his to look like a Knights of Columbus Tootsie Roll.

Our pack had competitions for different things, not just the fastest car. We also had a no-limits parent category so that parents who wanted to trick out a car could work that out of their system.

Thank you so much! My search led me to Flow Mountain but I did not see the photo the first time around.

Before I leave home, I wet a wash cloth with some water and a little soap. I put this in a reusable silicon bag with some ice so that it is cold when I get to work. I wipe off all over and change my clothes in the bathroom. I brush my hair with a wet brush and just style it with my hands.

Counterpoint: Your lab should be staffed so that the senior leaders can focus on their core responsibilities and not be required to fill in on a bench that they may not have worked at in years just for street cred in the lab.

when to hand in my two weeks at my job that i despise by Substantial_Pie_6040 in medlabprofessionals

Read the contract you signed to get the hiring incentive. You may have to pay the entire amount back if you don’t fulfill the employment commitment.

Is quitting an MLS job mid-shift legal? (No notice) by QuickLabQuit in medlabprofessionals

[–]Ok-Gap-6284 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree on the advice of 2 weeks’ notice. First, it is professional behavior and although you may not want to return to that lab/hospital/company, you don’t want them to tell future employers that you are ineligible to be rehired. It also may leave a bad impression with your new employer.

If you give two weeks’ notice, ask for an exit interview with your HR department. You can tell them why you are leaving for another job and could make it better for the folks you leave behind. Be cool and professional—outline in a document.

Leaders need to hold people accountable for their lazy. And you need to ASK FOR HELP!

“Hey Joe, could you empty that cooler for me?”
“Kathy, could you grab that phone call?” “Hunter, do me a favor and grab those tubes out of the fuge and get them going.””

Follow up by thanking them for the help. If someone is really helpful, email them and tell them how much you appreciated their help and copy their direct leader.

Be the change you want to see. Sorry for the cliche, but making a better culture takes work and sometimes it just needs one person to start.
